Hello, my name is Alec Sydlow and I am the audience services manager for this year's
production of Twelfth Night.
Hey there, my name is Eric Hansen and I am the Chair of the Shakespeare Glen Committee of the Friends
of Shakespeare Festival St. Louis.
First and foremost we'd like to thank each and every one of you for agreeing to volunteer
at the Festival.
We rely on your support and couldn't do this without you.
Thanks everyone, we're here to serve you as your resources in the Glen.
We've added some extra shifts this year the first uh... arrives at 4:30 these
early birds help with setting up the lobby and audience areas and closing the reserved
parking lots and bike path.
All other nightly volunteers should arrive for check in by 5:30pm.
This will be in the administration tent located in the Festival lobby.
Concessions will also be available 5:30 until the intermission and a
water cooler will be in use at the Administration tent for you to refill.
We suggest that you bring with you the following:
A water bottle that you can refill in the Administration Tent.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, a brimmed hat.
We all know how hot it can get in the St. Louis summer.
Insect repellent.
A blanket or chair to sit on during the performance unless you are using the Festival's reserved
seating.
A picnic dinner unless you are purchasing food from the Festival concessions,
and a sweater, jacket or blanket because it can get cold in the park once the sun goes
down. Upon arrival you will receive your Festival t-shirt.
A brief orientation takes place at 5:45pm at which point
you'll be assigned your task for the night. All nightly volunteers will be
relieved by 8pm. So feel free to enjoy the nights performance.
It's important that as volunteers we have a special opportunity to add to the
experience of all the audience members and the Glen.
It is important that we are beacons of hospitality and warmth to our wonderful Festival
audience.
Also please remember that show must go on. In the event of inclement weather, we will
contact you in the event of a schedule change or cancellation.
Thanks for your time and we look forward to seeing you in the Glen.
Thank's everybody.
