Tip:
Highlight text to annotate it

>>Wade: Alright, we are here with Shaun
at the ZoomText booth at ATIA. Shaun, I have
used ZoomText for years with different folks.
I know it to be a great product that has
a lot of flexibility. I know you guys have some cool
new stuff going on with ZoomText, so can you spend
a couple of minutes talking to folks who might not
be aware of ZoomText, what it does and what
features might be useful to them?
>>Shaun: Sure. ZoomText is a software program that
allows people with visual impairments to use
Windows. Every version of Windows, XP, 2000, Vista,
Windows 7. Basically, it uses two main technologies to
give the people with visual impairments access. It's
maginification and speech feedback. And magnification
goes all the way up to 36X. As you can see as we increase
magnification text actually looks better and better and better.
That's because we're not actually magnifying the text, we
are putting down large, true type font. And as you can hear,
ZoomText is audiblizing the text on the screen, giving
us some feedback. It can read whatever gets focused in view,
so it automatically tracks.
Also, ZoomText can read any text
on the screen. For example, reading a word document,
The Gettysburg Address. It doesn't matter if it is a
word document, a web page, an email, whatever document is
on your screen, ZoomText can read.
>>Wade: So anything that lands on your Windows based
computer, ZoomText is going to magnify and read,
and also there is a a highlighting and tracking
enhancement, right?
>>Shaun: Exactly, exactly. And we can also manipulate
the colors that are on the screen. Most people find that the
white background with the black text, they find that it
is very glaring. So we can invert the colors. We can help people
find their pointer by enhancing the pointer.
>>Wade: One of my favorite features.
>>Shaun: We can also help you find where the caret is.
In this case we have a blue wedge, but we can make
that a block or a circle or something like that.
>>Wade: Shaun, One of the things I know
about vision impairment is that not one solution
works for everybody. Talk to me about how customizable
ZoomText is, because I know you can do lots of great
stuff to meet the different needs of different people.
>>Shaun: Exactly. For example, the color enhancement,
someone may have a special visual impairment where
they can't see a certain color. And we can pretty much
customize any of the colors here on the screen. We can
replace greys. I'm sorry, we can remove reds.
>>Wade: It's all kinds of options there, where you can
take colors out. You can really adjust it so that it works
with that particular person's needs.
>>Shaun: Exactly.
>>Wade: And you can save those settings so that if you find out the
magical combination for you, you can retrieve that whenever you need it.
>>Shaun: Exactly.
>>Wade: Excellent. Excellent.
>>Shaun: You can apply those settings to specific programs.
Specific for Word, or specific for Outlook. ZoomText can associate
those settings with those applications.
>>Wade: Shaun, thanks for taking a couple of minutes. If somebody
wants to learn more about ZoomText and how to use this program
for themselves, how do they get a hold of you? What's the best way?
>>Shaun: You can call us at 1800-859-0270.
>>Wade: Or go to your website at aisquared.com?
>>Shaun: Exactly.
>>Wade: Excellent. Shaun, thanks again. We appreciate your time.
>>Shaun: You're welcome.
