4 Common Traps and How to Avoid Them There are dozens-if not hundreds-of traps
when it comes to home time management. Right now I'm going to cover 4 of them that are
pretty common. These traps can slow down, if not halt, any and all efforts to get your
home time management under control. 1.) Not Putting Ideas Into Action
Ideas alone will not accomplish a thing. I had an idea to create a Home Time Management
coaching program... but it was only through (literally) thousands of hours of actual work
that I was able to create it. Thinking about buying a car didn't get one sitting in my
driveway... actually going out and buying one did. Thinking about cooking dinner...
well, you get the idea. Mighty things happen when good ideas are combined
with the action needed to breathe life into them. Until then they're just formless ideas.
Avoid this one by recognizing that action is the key ingredient in any plan if you're
seeking results. 2. Not Putting in the Necessary Effort
Too often we'll start on something but not see it through to the end. I've done it myself
(and still do sometimes). For instance, many years ago I bought a speed cleaning book at
a yard sale. After half-heartedly attempting to learn the techniques for a couple of months
it ended up stuffed away on my bookshelf for a decade or so.
Fast forward to when I decided I was going to get housecleaning under control... once
and for all. Not only did I read the book through and through but I bought another of
his books that was more in-depth, I practiced and even bought the recommended tools and
supplies. Once I decided to put in the necessary effort
wonderful things happened. Avoid this trap by committing to learn however
much is needed in order to be successful. (Remember, though, it still goes along with
#1 which is Action.) 3.) Trying to Change Too Much at One Time
This is another common trap. It shouldn't come as any surprise that if you decide you're
going to tackle 5 big changes at one time you're pretty much setting yourself up for
failure. There's simply no way the majority of people can concentrate on that many changes
and give enough time and energy... much less thought... to all of them.
Avoid this trap by prioritizing what changes you want to make and only biting off one proverbial
"bite" at a time. 4.) Expecting Too Much Too Soon
This trap is too easy to fall into. You are totally motivated to get a 30 day menu plan
together on Saturday morning but by Saturday afternoon you've decided to put it off for
another 5 years. Why? Because it seems like you're trying to eat the whole elephant at
one sitting. Impossible!
Avoid this trap by realizing that even a brick house is built one brick at a time. Each simple,
single, solitary step you take toward reaching your goal is one simple, single, solitary
step closer you are. If you found this video helpful then don’t
