Something very interesting happened during the project
at the Instituto Terra in Aimorés, Minas Gerais.
I always stayed at the bed of the car trying to find animals,
because the view is very limited from inside the car.
Me and my camera on the bed of the car is very practical.
I don't have to get off the car when we come across animals.
During one of those trips I noticed a different color. A color I knew.
I recognized this color because it is not a typical color of this vegetation.
Look at that. It really is a Southern Tamandua!
Yeah, we found it!
When I found the Tamandua I was with my nature expert and my guide.
They thought I had seen a termite mound or something like that.
But no. It really was a Southern Tamandua. I was with my big zoom lens
and was able to take pictures. But we waited until night anyways,
hoping the Tamandua might come down the tree.
but it didn't come down.
When we came back the next day it was gone.
But the pictures I took fulfill their purpose.
