Imagine you're a Deaf young lady or young man and you're at home on a Sunday afternoon
and you turn on a little bit of television and you want some Gospel videos. And you see
such artists as Dorinda Clark-Cole or Yolanda Adams or Kirk Franklin.....and imagine this....you
can't hear anything, but you see the expression on their faces and you can feel the vibration,
but unfortunately you have to depend upon closed captioning to really capture what they're
saying and it could be a little bit of strain on your eyes because sometimes the caption
is going a little bit faster than your eyes can keep up with. So you watch the captioning
then you watch the artist and you watch the artist, then you watch the captioning. But
now lets look at another scenario. Again you're a Deaf young lady or young man and you turn
on the Gospel music video on television and out comes Dorinda Clark-Cole and she's singing
I'm Still Here and you see the beautiful sign language interpreter now signing the words
to the song. Imagine, understanding is now clear because now you're matching the words
with the music and now you can understand that Jesus is a "rock" (strength) instead
of reading that He's a "Rock" like a literal rock. You see the words they're painting the
picture of what this Gospel message is all about. And imagine the 350 million Deaf and
Hard of Hearing that are in the world that will now be able to enjoy your music. That's
what you're going to see today. My Soul Has Been Anchored in
the Lord....(music begins to play).
