[Ananda Mananda Mantra on Mantras & Chants-1 CD] OM Ananda Mananda Karaprasanam, Jnana
Svarupam Nijabodha Rupam, Yogendra Midyam Bhavarogya Vaidyam, Shrimat Gurum, Nityam
Maham Bhajami OM. When we begin our meditations in Kriya Yoga, there is a set of techniques
given to us to practice which will unfold the inner man, the inner being. And we always
begin our sadhana, our spiritual practice, with the OM technique. It's called the Omkar
Kriya. I am now going to give you what is called the Omkar Kriya. You must remember
that as I speak, my words will penetrate your heart and give you a healing transmission
and a spiritual boost. My words will evolve your inner emotional body, mental body and
intuitional body. So now, the first technique, which we call the Omkar technique, is to do with Creation
and how we reverse the process whereby we have come. All of you have heard of the Big
*** Theory, that at the beginning of creation, there was the Word, and the Word was with
God and God was the Word. And that Word is Omkar. So Omkar itself is chanting God within
you. So it is a sacred word and the technique is very simple. I will explain to you, step
by step. During the Omkar Technique, we take a sacred, little room to ourselves, a meditation
room. If we do not have the meditation room, what we do is, we take a small corner and
we face the Eastern direction of the rising sun and we sit down to meditation. Those who
cannot sit down to meditation can sit on a chair and insulate their feet with a blanket
facing the rising sun. And then sit in the aura of love. There's a good learning for
us, that whatever the situation, whatever the circumstances, that we must hold steadfast
to our spiritual practice. We must be constant in our sadhana. And we must be constant in
our devotion to God, whether it be through Bhajan, or Kirtan, which we call spiritual
discourse and devotional chanting.
