Hello and welcome to this weekly edition of simple smart and sexy
a couple of weeks ago i read an article on Forbes magazine saying that maybe
google and facebook in the next five years would die and i went like what
what is this
and the article when i read it made a lot of sense
the story goes like this
old generations apparently do not know how to adapt and sell to new generations
so when you think of it and business terms for example you think of the
eighties
and you think of companies newcomers like
microsoft was
making billions and trillions with incredible growth rates because they
discovered or they
reorder the world with their inventions and their innovations
then the nineties came on the internet area started the internet one point zero
and companies like google for example
did a great job on organizing content or Amazon on organizing the ecommerce
and the two thousand came and the social media companies arrived
face book
linkedin twitter, they're all newcomers
in a new order of things to get and what happened to the old ones the old ones
did not know how to adapt
first of all when they saw these newcomers
really competing with them or having the capacity to compete with them
it was kind of too late
and then when they wanted to compete and they wanted to get into that in order of things
they did it with old paradigms that brought them to success
so this is a case of microsoft trying for example
with bing
to compete with google or or google with google+ trying to compete with
down the road neighbor facebook their really really
for example facebook I read it's really worried that this might happen to
them again
why? because two thousand and ten came and again and new order of things started where
the mobile by generation burst into the world and change the rules of
connectivity and relationships again so how we relate to
friends and how we relate to people and trough our
mobile devices it's very different to what we did when we
had connection only through our pc's and a desktop
today its based
it's more relevant for the consumer because it's based on where i am now i
want to connect with the people that are here
now not in the future not two or three days i want to
connect with friends and people in my needs exactly where i am at the time that
and in the mood that I am right now
your take on this
is if you want to adapt to an order of things in keep adapting because the
changes happening so fast that the curve of change
has to be accelerated
first of all
forget about industry specialists and start
hiring people from
other completly different industries that might have the ability of bringing
in
fresh content fresh ideas and after
and new approach
especially in business models and then
go mobile you can't go wrong if you go mobile, yo can go wrong if you
don't
so with those two tips, i hope you have enjoyed it
remember be simple, be smart and be sexy and have a super week
