This will be a crocheted folded petal flower. It can have 5 or 6 petals.
Start with a chain of 5 and join the chain in the round with a slip stitch.
Round 1. Start to make the first petal.
Make 3 chains up (these 3 chains replace a double crochet), then chain 5 and make 1 double crochet in the round.
We have 1 chain space ready!
Turn the work. We continue making the petal from the back side.
Make 2 chains up and in the chain space make 8 double crochets.
Make 5 more double crochets under the 3 chains, that we started the round with. Later instead of 3 chains we`ll have 1 double crochet stitch.
So, make 5 double crochets.
Turn the work to the front and to finish the petal you need to make a slip stitch tough the double crochet stitch that is a part of the chain space.
Here is this double crochet. You see I insert the hook through 2 top loops the double crochet and make a slip stitch.
First petal is ready.
Let's do together the second one.
In the round make 1 double crochet, chain 5 and again 1 double crochet in the round.
You see the second chain space.
Turn the work to the back side, chain 2 and make 8 double crochets in the chain space.
Now we need to turn our work to the front and make 5 double crochets more in the space between the first petal and the first double crochet of second petal.
Here is this space.
So make 5 double crochets.
Fold our second petal. Make a slip stitch through the 2 top loops of double crochet.
Why do I work this stitch through 2 loops? Well, if I make a stitch tough one loop there will be a little hole, which is not beautiful at all. So in these parts I always work through 2 loops.
So I finished the second petal with a slip stitch.
Let's continue and make the 3rd petal together.
In the round make1 double crochet, chain 5 and again 1 double crochet in the round.
Chain space is ready!
Turn the work, chain 2 and make 8 double crochets in the chain space.
Turn the work back. Work on the front side: 5 double crochets in the space between the previous petal and the first double crochet of this petal.
Fold our second petal and make a slip stitch through the 2 top loops of double crochet.
You see 3 petals are ready. In this flower we are going to make 6 petals, but you can change the number of petals in the flower by yourself. You can make 5, 6... more or less.
Next petal, work the same.
I am already done with 5 petals. Let's do the last one together.
In the round work 1 double crochet, chain 5 and let's see closer where we should make a slip stitch.
On the first petal count the last 5 double crochets, insert hook between the 5th and 6th double crochets and find the chain stitch between these 2 stitches.
Here is this stitch. Through this chain stitch make a slip stitch.
Last chain space is ready!
Again turn the work, chain 2 and make 8 double crochets in the chain space.
Turn the work back. Work on the front side: 5 double crochets in the space between the previous petal and the first double crochet of this petal.
Fold the petal and make a slip stitch through the same chain stitch that we've found between the 5th and 6th double crochets.
Flower is ready!
Here is the back side of the flower!
I also have the same kind of flowers but with 5 petals.
Wish you success in making flowers!
