This IBMS training video reviews the procedure for importing and exporting Test Results and Configurations in XML format.
This should be the preferred method for exchanging IBMS data between computers.
The export and import functions are located on the Battery Management top bar.
The interface to generate export or import file rests on the same interface for transferring data from or to the EC-Series Analyzers.
Let's have a look at how to make a data Export. Click the Export function.
You can select between Test Results or Configurations.
Use Test Results to export series of Test Results.
Note that the export file will also include the corresponding String Configurations.
Use Configurations to export String Configurations without including any Test Results.
You will also be able to export templates of Battery Types, Test and Alarm Settings as well as the Quick Test.
With the Configuration export, you can spread the same configurations and templates over all your computers.
Let's start the bulk of the lesson by exporting Test Results.
Select Test Results and the Export Test Results windows open.
Check the box corresponding to the Test Results you want to export.
As for transferring data in and out of the Analyzers,
you can select to export a single test results by checking the corresponding box.
The entire dataset of one string, one site, region or company.
You can also use the buttons at the bottom of the window to select everything... or deselect any selection.
When you are done, click on the Export to XML. A new window opens allowing you to navigate on your hard drive
and to enter the filename of the Export file.
Click Save.
The Status section in the Export window report if the export was successful or not.
Exporting configuration is based on a similar procedure.
Select Configuration and the Export Configuration window open.
Select the String Configurations and the templates to be exported.
For the string configurations, the selection can also be done at the string, site, region and company level.
You can use the buttons at the bottom to select everything or deselect your selection.
When the selection is done, click on Export to XML.
Navigate on your hard drive and enter the filename of the export file.
Click the Save button and check if any error occurred during the Export process in the Status column.
Importing Test Results or Configuration rests on the same procedure.
On the top bar, select Import.
Then select Global Energy Innovations.
You can now select between importing IBMS Test Results or IBMS Configurations.
Let's select IBMS Test Results.
Two windows will open: The import Test Results and a Navigation window.
In the Navigation window, search the location of the XML file and select the file.
After Clicking on open. The Navigation window closes.
The Import Test Results window lists the available test results in the XML file.
If no Test Results are listed, this most likely indicates that the XML file was a Configuration export.
IBMS indicates if the test results already exists in the current database with the mention existing.
New will indicate that the test results is not in the IBMS database.
You can select individual test results or all the test results of the String, Site, Region or Company.
You can also use the select all button or uncheck all your selections with the Select None button.
When your selection is done, click the Import button.
The status column displays the result of the import.
In particular, Replaced indicates that you have overwritten a Test Results in the IBMS database with the data contained in the XML file.
When you select to import configuration, you will first have to locate and select the XML file.
The Import Configuration window lists all the String Configuration and Templates included in the XML file.
Because XML files generated during a Test Result export include the string configuration.
These file can be also imported as Configuration.
In this case, only the string configuration corresponding to the test result can be imported.
Configurations already in the IBMS database are indicated as existing.
While New refer to Configuration or template not in the IBMS database.
Select the Configuration and Template to be imported using the same procedure as described before.
When the selection is done, click the import button.
The results of the import process are displayed in the Status column.
You are now trained to perform IBMS data import and export.
