Hey guys welcome to Tech Tube Central. Something very important happened in the technology
world yesterday. Which is very surprising for it being a Sunday.
So yesterday, (I'm sure you already heard about this but i'm going to be talking about
this) but I'm going to be giving you a rundown on what
has been happening and what's going on with AT&T buying T-Mobile USA. So let's get started.
Yes I said it. AT&T is buying T-Mobile USA for a sum of 39 billion dollars
in stocks and cash. It is said that, in order to complete this phase it will take up to
a year to complete this phase. T-Mobile will remain independently run but
this does mean a few things. It means, that T-Mobile and AT&T users will probably get
a lot better coverage now that they are owned by the same people.
Like I said it's just T-Mobile USA not the entire T-Mobile company.
Some people have been speculating that this means that T-Mobile is getting the iPhone
4 since at&t owns them. No! In fact, T-Mobile and AT&T have gone on
the record saying that they do not sell the iPhone 4 on T-Mobile.
So if you were think "Yay This Means I can get the iPhone on T-Mobile?"
No it doesn't you can’t get the iPhone on T-Mobile but that does mean that they could
stop all those stupid ads that are like "I'm an iPhone 4 and I'm a MyTouch 4G and i'm on
T-Mobile." They probably will stop those ads.
More important than them getting bought in my opinion is that this creates a monopoly
issue because we've already seen so many monopolies lately.
First you have Comcast buying NBC, HP buying Palm and now you see AT&T buying T-Mobile.
This is getting crazy there's been lots of monopolies.
Because, there used to be that there were the big four.
AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. Now it's just AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint because
they are the same company. So that means that -- Verizon and Sprint are
CMDA, and T-Mobile are GSM. So this means that the major network there
are only one major GSM network in the United States, which would be a monopoly issue.
But, what does this mean? What does this have for the future of cellular devices? I wanna
know your guy's thoughts on this down below. I'm kinda excided about this but not really
because where I am rates are so much higher for AT&T and T-Mobile
is the cheapest company. Are they gonna make/keep T-Mobile Basically their cheaper brand and
make AT&T their more deluxe brand? Which doesn't make sense because they don't
have very good coverage. Anyways, what are your guy's thoughts on this.
AT&T has said that T-Mobile will remain independant, that they won't carry the iPhone.
This basically means that they just own the company and continue to run it but it will
remain independently run. So I would love to hear from you guys. Leave
a comment below on what your thoughts on this. Or, even better leave a video response to
this video leaving me your thoughts on this whole T-Mobile getting bought out by AT&T.
What could happen next? You never know with the battle of the cell phone carrier battle.
Thanks, You Guys for watching Tech Tube Central and I'll see you guys in another Tech Tube
Central Video. Peace
