Hi, this is Alia And welcome back to my kitchen
Today, I am going to show you one of my very favorite Recipes
We are going to make French pancakes
That is called in French caps
In English, they called Crêpes not crape... Crêpes
And they are absolutely fantastic
I love love love love this recipe
So it is non Moroccan recipe however they are very popular in Morocco
I’m gonna eating them on any time
And even now you can find many Crêpe places in Morocco
You can have them for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner for snacks, any time you want
Because you can basically fill them with any filling you want
You can have sweet fillings like nutella and chocolate and bananas with caramel whatever you want
And for Dinner you can have them with shrimp or meat or béchamel sauce
I salivate right now So it is easy to make them
This short video is going to make you a prof in making Crêpes
And you only need this recipe to make yourself a chef three times a day
So let's start
The first step is the secret of this recipe.
In a saucepan heat the milk and butter
until they reach a boiling point.
In the meantime, we are going to mix the rest of the ingredients.
Add the eggs to the bowl; and lightly beat them with a whisk.
Add the sugar and beat it with the eggs…
if you want to make savory crepes, just put a little bit of sugar!
Add a pinch of salt, Vanilla extract
again you can use any flavors of your choice like ground cinnamon or ground cardamom
for savory crepes, use dried herbs instead!
Now add the flour little by little
and mix well until the batter is smooth
Come on, mix, mix, mix…
Back to our milk and butter… they started boiling!
Must be hot in there!
Take them right away and add a little bit to the batter.
Mix quick before the eggs cook!
Then add the rest little by little while mixing.
You’ll see, you will get a smooth soft silky crepe batter like never before…
Because the flour sucked in all the moister from the boiled milk.
Now heat your pan
make sure it’s a non-stick pan otherwise, you would lose the crepe battle…
Once the pan is hot, reduce the heat to medium-high
and pour some of the batter in it.
Do a nice rotational movement to spread the batter and cook for a few minutes.
Once the surface of the crepe gets dry
check the bottom, and flip…
cook the other side, until you can slide the crepe easily on the pan,
and you ARE DONE!
Here let’s do it again….
Our crepes are ready…
now you can fill them with anything you want…
for savory you can use cheese or cooked ground meat
for sweet you can use jam, sugar and lemon juice
banana and chocolate, and of course Nutella!
Roll the crepe, cut, and bite…
YUMMYYYY….
Call all your friends and family for a snack…
they are going to love you!
Bon appetite!
