Quantum Rehab is very excited to introduce a new power articulating foot platform,
a power AFP.
There's many inovative features and benefits to this option on power positioning.
First and foremost, the adjustability.
The adjustability of the system allows for client adjustments to happen while a
client is in system.
First and foremost are the calf pads. The calf pads work off of a slotted
rail
with the bracket that pivited
These brackets are able to be loosened and then the calf pad is able to be adjusted
height, depth
and angle
all while the client is in the chair
The next piece of adjustment is the lower leg length
lower leg length is done by 2 button head screws on his side
of the lower leg length extensions which are independent of one another
by loosing the 2 button head screws on each side you'll be able to move the inner tube
for the lower leg length
up and down
There are two different lower leg length extensions
10 to 16 inches from the seat pan
and 13 to 19 inches from the seat pan
this allows, again, to be done with the client in the chair
These button head screws are also the same size
as the screws being used in the bracket of the calf pads
which allows one tool to be used
and not having to remove
parts, just loosen and slide
The standard footplates on the power AFP come 11 inches long
they have plus or minus ten degrees of Plantarflexion and dorsiflexion adjustment
they are independent of one another
but they are standard with the connection brackets that can be used
making a single footplate
another unique feature of the footplate are the holes that are allowed in the footplate
this allows for different position components to be easily mounted easily onto the
footplates
the other reason for some of these holes
is for modular pieces to be connected to the footplate
these modular pieces can widen
on each side
can lengthen into a bell shape
or when put together with the bell shape
and the widening piece and or lengthen the footplates
this will allow for the footplate to not to have to have custom made
based on your client you can attach these modular pieces
for much more ease of use in the field
one other piece of the foot plates
that's very innovative too
is the foot plate adjustment underneath
the foot plates can actually be adjusted and moved out 2 inches to widen
the foot plate without even having to use the modular pieces which is standard.
The next and innovative and unique piece of of the Power AFP is it's durability as well as
it's articulation range.
As the Power AFP starts to elevate and extend there are 2 actuators that are
doing this movement
one actuator
is allowing for the elevation
the actuator on the other side is allowing for the extension of the
articulation. The reason for this
is so now that we have true adjustable articulation. This Power AFP will go out to
7 and a half inches of extension or articulation,
but can be adjusted all the way to zero
so in an infinite range from zero to 7 and a half inches
this articulation can be adjusted
so that we dialed in specifically for your client
which in turn allows
the client feet to stay on the footplate
throughout the whole entire cycle
stops the chances of a person's heels falling through as the device is being
elevated.
The byproduct of using 2 actuators
on the system has really increased durability 10 fold. This can be rated
up to 450 pound weight capacity.
The last unique feature of the Power AFP
is a calf pad articulation.
As I elevate and extend my Power AFP
the pannel that's connected to the calf pads connected to will start to move
it will start to articulate out
this is going to help keep the calf pads in contact with the clients calfs
the full way through the motions
again, increasing comfort
increases adjustability
and allowing for the person feet to stay on the footplate and their calfs to be supported.
As discussed earlier the new AFP
is a 450 pound weight capacity, it will fit on
powered seating systems 14 wide up to 28 wide.
Your calf pads also have 4 different options.
You'll have these large
curved calf pads,
a smaller version of these calf pads,
as well as two
full piece calf panels, a large and a small, that are adjustable.
