Hello everybody, I'd like to welcome you to a quick little random sculpt I'm gonna do.
I got a little block of wood here with a really thick copper wire screwed down in there.
it's in there pretty good
Just gonna strighten it up...
...like, I don't know maybe the shape of a little head I guess?
make sure it's not too big, or too little
making sure it's not too tall and using my other statute as a reference
Cause it was cool, I really liked making that Grumpy Alien!
says I just figured I would go with some kinda of... alien.. or...
random, creature sculpt. but the only reason I'm doing this is because
I'm waiting on some white clay to show up
I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and they ran out of white
somebody raided the place! So I came home and ordered some from Walmart dot com
a 8oz bar of Premo White
it was cool they also had translucent and black too
but that was all the colors for Premo
so I'm looking forward to getting that because I wanna do
some cane work.. I got some really cool ideas coming up!
and I was like.."why should I have to just sit here and wait?"
I should be able to so something..
So I'm making something.. making this.. this thing here. lol
then wackin' it with my spoon, beating it up...
..cause I do this on all of them I guess..
I just like to smack it with my spoon.. I know, that's weird
doesn't that look like the butt to a spider, or maybe a bee?
or something? ..I don't know..
I wanna attach it to this
with some tape, and cover it in tape
this makes it easier when i put the clay on there.. also its a lot friendler
if you have to take it off (the clay) Lets say I don't like this in the end and I don't want to cook it
I don't have to waist this clay, I can pull it right back off
and try something else. just some practice. Its all it is.
so I'm not really worried about what I'm making or anything.
okay, watch real carefully on this part
notice how I'm bending this up.. and sticking this down there.. and rolling it around...
...I have no idea what I'm going, I'm just going it!
[laughs] naw, I trying to build it out down there at the bottom
where his shoulders are gonna be
I got this packed in
pretty tight.. I went all the way around it with a spoona couple times..
..smackin' it.
And then I covered this with some tape, just like I did with the other part
And one thing I noticed, when I make these little statues like this..
it moves around a little at the base, which is kinda annoying
so figured I'd put some screws in here!
and I put like five layers of tape, so its like leather. Really really thick
so when I drive these down all the way
and kinda sink them down in there
it was really, really sturdy! I couldn't get over with how sturdy it was..
So yeah that a nice new little trick
I'm gonna do this for all my new sculptures..
its so...stable, it feels so nice
I'll be able to put some clay on here..
and make whatever I want!
but this is pretty much how I start off all my sculptures
Next, I'll be putting some clay on.. I do hope you stick around for that..
Thank you so much for watching this.. it means a lot and I'll see you here again soon!
you are all awesome. awesome. awesome. awesome.
