Hi! I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today, we are going to learn how to build
a barbecue pit. Now we've leveled up the ground around it, we are going to clean out our barbecue
pit hole a little bit more to get some of the gravel out of it that fell in. Now we
are ready to begin laying our hexagonal bricks. These are seconds which I purchased at a local
brick yard. They are all imperfect but they were half priced, so you pick through them
and get the good ones that you want. They do have grooves in them and they also have
pegs and little bosses stick out of them so that these will interlock into the grooves
of the brick which is above it. So the way we do this is we set this. I am going to position
this one right up against this other brick so that we will have that firmly locked in
there and we will continue setting these on the first course. This will hopefully make
a circle around this fire pit and we will have our first course of blocks set in place.
