Well, I'm here with an iPhone 4s It has a problem in the boot
It stays in a boot loop I'll turn it on to show better the problem
Turned on, shows the apple After 4 or 5 seconds, it restarts itself
And the boot again Shows the apple again, never going forward ...
... and not allowing to use the phone
I tried the iTunes Recovery on "Recovery Mode" Tried the recovery on "DFU Mode"
Tried several solutions from other videos And in the case of this problem, none of them helped
Exactly how the problem happened I don't know,
because this iPhone arrived here already to fix And the owner wasn't sure
if the unit was wet or beaten I looked inside, and there is no wet signals,
I believe it was beaten Or some other defect, electrical discharge
Anyway I'll try to turn it off by holding the buttons:
"Home" + "Power" for a few seconds
Actually, it's almost 15 seconds
It has to show the apple 2 times And only when the display goes black the second time, it will be completly turned off
Here, it's turned off
I already took out the two screws down here To make the video faster
So I don't have to remove them now I will only pull the cover up
And show to you where is the problem Here, in this position here ...
... I have already removed a metal cover it covers everything and protects
I have already removed this cover, to make the video faster
The problem is in the power button's flex cable
This little button here The power on/off button
This is the problem
This button is connected under this connector I'll show ...
... here it is
This is the power button's flex cable
I'll turn on the iPhone now It'll start that boot cicle
But I will disconect this flex cable So it will not work anymore
It's starting the boot loop You can see it right now
It keeps restarting
It'll restart again I'll disconnect the cable here
It's disconnected What happen to iPhone?
It will starts normally Let's wait a few more seconds, it is already
starting The boot loop time has already passed
The other cable I disconnected This here
It controls, if I'm not mistaken, the silent switch
Or the volume buttons So, there is no problem disconnecting this
cable These 3 cables are for that:
- One for the volume - Other for the silent switch
- Other for the "Power" button ... ... and other things here: proximity sensor,
maybe the frontal camera Maybe the frontal camera is in another cable,
not sure Well, it's started ...
... it's working perfectly So, what was the work around for this problem
The solution ... ... I have not fixed yet
I have not exchanged any part I believe the solution is: change the "Power"
button's cable Buy a new one
It's around 6 USD on ebay Buy a new circuit. It goes from here, to here,
passes by the proximity sensor and arrive here
And it's this cable here What I have done as work around:
I let this cable disconnected And did this
Click "Configurations" "General"
"Accesibility" There is an option here
(looking for it) Here it is
AssistiveTouch I have turned on this AssistiveTouch
Whas is this AssistiveTouch It makes this icon appear here
What makes it possible to control Some options here
Also it can lock the screen I can use the "Home" button to back (turn
on screen) The icon stills here
If I hold down my finger here, at the "Lock screen"
It's like having hold the "Power" button I can turn it off
Now there is another question How to turn it on without the power button?
It's very simple Just connect the power/data cable
I have a data cable here in my computer I'll connect it to iPhone to show
Let's just wait it power off Powered off
Just connect the cable here Wait a few seconds (maybe 1 or 2)
It's on I can remove the cable
Now it's possible to use the phone without the power button
But, the price of the part to fix is very low
6 to 7 USD on ebay If you have any basic knowledge on opening
electronics, connecting cables It worths fixing it
That's it! Thanks for watching If you like this video, click on Like button
