This is Keri Stewart with Results4Business Unplugged. I really enjoy our one on one time
together. My focus is to help you focus, where you need accountability and results. When
was the last time you monitored your plan? Do you have a plan? Leaders without a plan
are hard to follow. Impossible to follow. People cannot read your mind. Individuals
without a plan are operating on a hope, and hope is not a solid strategy.
Contrary to what you may think, taking time to make a plan doesn't take longer. It actually
can be done quickly and easily, and I even daresay, painless.
Think about your organization. Are you struggling to have people hit their goals? Are you having
people that are frustrated in communication, or they're doing one thing and you want them
to do another? Or are you missing your own personal goals? Because if we get real specific
and if we map out where you see your business going, growing, profiting, and expanding,
now you have the bullseye on the target. Now you know, I'm throwing those darts and it's
going to hit absolutely right there.
And my super successful tip for this week is actually it's a key question. Do you have
a plan? Is it meticulous? Is there no plan? Or is it in your head? Or is it somewhere
in the middle? Because if others depend on you and your leadership in your organization
without a plan, it's really unfair. You're setting them up for failure. And you're going
to be more frustrated. How do they perform towards your expectations?
I will share with you they'll improve once they're clear what your expectations are.
It helps with communications and goals, timelines. Compare it to taking a road trip in your car.
If you don't have a map and you just say, "We're going", well who knows you're going
to end up, but you'll get there. You're absolutely right. No GPS allowed, not on your phones,
not on your car, but we'll get there. A little hard to navigate the miles efficiently without
getting lost.
My challenge for you this week is to observe two things, and it depends on where you are
in the workplace. If you're a solopreneur, a 1099 employee, or in commission sales, did
you accomplish all that you thought about, or did you miss a few of those goals last
week? Many things if they didn't get accomplished, chances are you might need a stronger plan.
If you're a leader within the organization, how well are your employees able to follow
your vision? Can they see it? Can they talk about it? If I were to call them can they
tell me about it? If they can't print it out and take it with them where they go, they're
going to take your company down a path of their own definition of success. Who holds
you accountable? Who holds them accountable? And how often?
My offer for you is call or email me. Where is the performance of your employees off a
little bit? Or where are you challenging a little bit, because any time of the year is
a perfect time to polish the plan that you're working on. Or to create one. And my offer
for you again is we're going to get you crisp clarity of the future that you see and share
it then with your employees if you lead people. They'll feel a sense of relief, a sense of
purpose, and productivity will increase when they know what they're being measured upon.
Your bites of brilliance for this week, if you don't have a plan, why not? You might
be surprised at what happens when you do. Subscribe and follow me on any and all of
the social media. And next week we're going to talk about presentations. Are they a little
sloppy? Are they needing a little work? Tune in.
