Local activists are tackling the tough subject of bullying in L.A. area high schools.
A group known as Be More Heroic brought a message of awareness
and activism to Birmingham Charter High School in Van Nuys today.
They use music, the internet and inspiration from victims who have been bullied
to get their message across.
One member of the group, born with cerebral palsy, told students they must be
proactive with bullies.
I was the kid who no one believed can have regular ed classes.
And I was the kid who lost everything
and felt hopeless.
But thanks to the support of my family and friends
and this amazing organization, Be More Heroic, I am alive.
Be More Heroic helps build anti-bullying teams of high school campuses. They say bullying
is best conquered by communication and teamwork. www.BeMoreHeoric.com
