I think it's difficult for most people to imagine the scale of the Mosaic project. This is an enormous replacement of our business systems across the University.
I think when one takes into consideration the magnitude of this task, I would say I'm really pleased with the progress we've made. It involves so many people
in every department across the campus and not only individuals; I mean critical processes so that there's hardly a part of the University that is not going to be touched by this.
So when you take all of that into consideration we've done very well; I think it's moving along very effectively.
Training is obviously critical. I think it is every bit as important as the quality of the software that has been purchased, and obviously at all levels.
From the people who are working with the system, lets say at the front line with the students, right through to finance,
training of all the users is obviously going to be critical.
This is an initiative that will alter the way in which we conduct ourselves. In terms of research it will give researchers greater control over their accounts and the work they do.
It will empower everyone who works in the administration of the University by giving them a better tool to work with.
So it will be, I think, very effective for the University, but only as effective as the number of people on the campus who are comfortable with it.
