Hi, I am Alexander Sorokin.
I am a Ph.D student
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I spend a great summer here at Willow
working to make the robots smarter.
The robots can do amazing things by themselves.
They can move around,
they can grasp things,
they can bring them to people
but they don't really see the world,
in the way people do.
They don't really understand the images.
So, what I was working here is
to make the robots ask people
what is there in the image.
The robot will take an image
send it all to people on the internet.
And then get back what people think there is.
Now the robot becomes smarter
and they understand what a table is,
how the trash can looks like,
what is a bottle, what is a stapler,
what is a paper cup.
So, the robot knows what it can do
and what it should not do.
