Dreams Rev Ou
Part-au-Prince, Haiti 2 Years after the Earthquake.
On January 12,2010, the earth shook for 30 seconds. the ensuing disaster claimed 316,000 lives.
Can you tell us your name?
My name is Jeudi Wistalia
Now what's your dream?
My dream is to see my country become beautiful.
to become a doctor to help my country
but most of all for me to learn more in schoool.
My dream?
What kind of dream do you want me to have?
I want the best for us.
My kids? To go to school, have food and stay sleeping at my side.
And it's not just food we need
What's necessary for us, the youth, is education.
With more education there will be less unemployment.
For myself? It's to find a job.
so I can be an honest citizen, and work like everyone else.
I don't want to sit here every day with my arms crossed like this.
What's your dream?
Say this! Say " I want to be rich"
Say this, say, " I want my country to be beautiful"
Say it like a little man!
Say, "I want to learn more in school"
My dream is to become a great artists
a national and international artist, known around the world.
Not just for myself, but so that I can serve all of Haiti.
What's your dream, Papi?
Well, It's if people see us, maybe our lives will get better.
I would like for more tourists to visit, so we can sell more crafts.
That way, we can live more at ease.
Before I die, i want my country to become beautiful, like the foreign countries
I want the super powers to give Haiti a chance to develop.
We welcome everyone here, to one of the cheapest markets in the world.
According to me the world must listen: discrimination against Haiti has to end.
I'm Haitian. I know the tribulations Haitians suffer are unjust.
When I see it, it aches my heart.
I wish...
How did your life change after the earthquake?
Now, we are not discouraged. We hope we will be seen and things will change.
Before I die, I would like to see beauty return to Haiti.
