To display our ballet slipper cake, I've made a cake board that is fifteen inches by twelve
inches. You want to have either a very large platter, or make a cake board like this because
we're using two cakes and we want to display them nicely. Now this cake board I made with
two pieces of cardboard that I glued together for extra strength. And then I wrapped it
with a nice plastic coated wrapping paper. Now you want to make a small pattern of our
cake and then we'll make the patterns for our ballet slippers. So if you just cut out
a piece of paper that is the size of the cake, and then fold that paper in half the long
way. And then we'll cut two ballet slippers. Now on the heel part it's going to be a little
more narrow. And then you want to come in, make a little bit of a curve on the sides
and then come around to the toe section. The toe section is a little bit wider. And then
come down for a more narrow heel. Now when you're happy with the shape of your ballet
slipper, we'll open them up so they're opposite and they'll sit on our cake plate like this.
