The majority of the people in Podoleni belong to the Christian Orthodox cult.
But among us there are also other cults, such as the Pentecostal and the Adventist.
These three religions make the basis for the community in Podoleni.
For the difference among the three cults, I would start with the biggest cult, the Orthodox.
They believe in the cross and the sign of the cross, in the icons of saints, in charity, alms given for the death, in sacraments.
For the Adventist cult, there is the 7th day doctrine, the Sabbath, obedience to the commands,
and with respect to food, they do not eat pork meat.
In the Pentecostal cult, we believe in the Holy Spirit, this is our doctrine.
‘Pentecost’ means ‘50’, from the 50th day, when the Holy Spirit descended.
We believe in prophecies, in visions, in dreams, in all the signs that God gives us with respect to our state.
If at times our state is wrong, these are like reins, which guide us when we take the wrong way and bring us back on the good track.
The Pentecostal cult is a cult of prayer in spirit and truth, with no icons,
no sign of the cross, we look directly, with no saints mediating.
We believe in the only mediator, who is Our Lord Jesus Christ, our great saviour, who for us sacrificed his life on the Golgotha.
Apart from Orthodox churches, after the revolution we built a place of gathering.
Because the church means the number of people, not the walls make the church,
but the members, that is the true church of God.
This is my view, that walls may be as big as they might, and adorned with icons,
but if they are not populated by people, there would be no value.
After the revolution we built through our own forces and through aids from the country and abroad, a sanctuary for the Pentecostal cult.
Our Adventist brothers also built one through the aids received.
Due to the faith we have in God, we nurture very good relations,
we respect each other, and we try to be close to each other.
Even if we have divergences in some problems, at the end we reconcile
and we part in peace through the will of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
