Intro music... The first step is to power down your device.
Bear in mind you're going to need root access to flash this ROM, you're going to need to
have your phone rooted as well as have a custom recovery installed. TWRP is what I recommend.
There will be something in the description of the video to explain how to install that
custom recovery, if you don't know how to already. Once you get your phone powered down,
we're going to boot up into recovery by holding the up volume button, the power button and
the home button at the same time. So, hold all three buttons down until you see the Note
2 illumination and then release all three and that should get you booted into recovery.
Alright and here we go, here is the TWRP recovery in case you haven't seen it. The first thing
is to make a nandroid backup anytime you flash anything. Make sure boot, system and data
are selected and swipe in order to create a nandroid backup. What that will do is give
you something to go back to if you have any problems during the flash process. This took
my phone about ten minutes...I fast forward here for the purposes of the video so we can
get on to the next step.
Okay, and just hit the back button and the next thing we're going to do here is do a
complete wipe of the phone starting with the factory reset. Hit the wipe button and then
swipe on the bottom and that will do your factory reset. This also wipes the cache and
the dalvik cache so you don't have to do that twice. Then go back and tap advanced and select
system and swipe and thats going to get rid of the previous ROM that you had on your phone.
Alright and you're all set to install now so go back twice and go to the install menu,
and wherever you've downloaded your ROM file and your Gapps file, go ahead and find those
on your internal storage or your external sd card or wherever you saved it. Select the
ROM first and then tap add more zips and select the Gapps file dated 2013-08-13 and then swipe
on the bottom and both of those zips should install with no problem. It shouldn't take
too long. Once this runs its course, we should boot up into CyanogenMod 10.2.
And thats it, so when its done just hit reboot system and give it some time. I fast forward
again here for the purpose of the video, but it will take a couple minutes the first time
you boot up into this brand new ROM on your phone. You'll get the CyanogenMod boot animation
for probably 2 or 3 minutes.
