Hi, I'm Nancy Thomas with Red Heart yarns and today I'm going to talk to you about a
brand new yarn we have called Ribbons
Ribbons come in lots of great beautiful colors, it has little subtle metallic, and
there are a couple of tricks for working with this yarn and i hope
that i can help you.
so we start out and take the band off the yarn... and if you notice it's in a little kind of a skein
and what I usually do is try to seperate it
there's a little strings around the skein in a couple of different places to
so cut those off
and then you can start winding it
and what i recommend is that you wind it onto something like the center from a
paper towel
piece
and just
let's start
to knit a little scarf which is mainly what people do
it's very simple simple really easy scarves and all you do is knit every row
what i do is fold over a little piece
basically one little track to make a nice edge
and i go through
my folded over piece
and
the piece in front
and then i'm gonna go into
each little track and put on seven stitches with three
four
five
six seven
and now I am going to start to knit
and when you knit
you insert it
your needle into the track
and there you go you've done a stitch
so your basically using the string from the track as your yarn
and i'm just gonna go across the row
the first row is always the hardest because you haven't really
solidified your stitches
and you can use
i would recommend a 8 or 9 size needle
to work on
okay on the last stitch I am going through both
pieces to make one stitch
and then I'm going to turn it around
and start again
the next row
and you just continually
go back and forth
you only have to knit
it's very simple, very easy
just make sure that you don't
inadvertenatly
knit two stitches together
and if you have to set your work down
put point protectors or something on
the stitch so that they don't fall off the needle
and that's all there is to working with ribbons yarn
