I need some help with York furnace troubleshooting.
I should be able to help you with that. First of all, is your furnace on, and plugged in
properly?
Yes, I think it is. It was working before, and we never unplugged it.
Are all the circuits breakers and or fuses on?
To the best of my knowledge, yes.
You may want to check on that before we go any further.
I will check on that. Yes, ma'am!
Another thing you can check, is to make sure that pilot light is the right size for the
furnace. Adjusting the gas pressure may give you the results you desire.
I can do that.
You can easily adjust the pilot light, to make sure that the flame is properly adjusted
to go over the burner carry over ports. You may need to unscrew a screw to do this, depending
on the model.
Roger that.
Another thing to do, is adjust the thermocouplers, which are the brackets around the flame. Make
sure they allow for proper sizing of the flame. After adjusting them, you may want to sand
off the area to make sure they are clean of debris.
OK, that sounds something easy enough to check.
Another thing you will want to check, is to make sure that the gas pressure is right,
and that there are no twists or kinks in the line.
OK I can do all that. How did you get so smart anyway?
I was born that way, you know like the Lady Gaga song.
Anyway if you have tried all those things for York furnace troubleshooting, and you
still are having problems, it may be time to call in a repairman.
OK, thanks, and I will do so if I have too. I am hoping to save a few bucks by doing it
myself.
