Tip:
Highlight text to annotate it
X
Well, hi there. This is Ronnie Bincer. I am going to give you an overview
on what's brand new inside Google Docs. So let's move over to a Google doc,
and that is the New Research Feature, something that's built into Google
Docs. I just learned about it today. So let's take a look at it.
I've got a text document here typed up, and I'm going to do some research
on the words "Video SEO." So I highlight those words, and then I'm going to
right-click on it or CTRL-click on it if I'm on a Mac, and it brings up
this option that says Research and then whatever your keywords are that you
had selected or the words you selected.
So let's click on it and note here in the upper right, it brings in a
search result for "Video SEO."
The first result is with my friends called ReelSEO, and when you mouse over something
like this, you will see the Preview, Insert Link, or Cite options. Let's take a quick
preview at what the site looks like, and that's their nifty site. Down on the bottom left
of it, you could click Close. Let's say I want to insert that link on the left. Actually,
let's do that in a minute.
First, I'm going to just Cite this. I'm going to click Cite. It puts in a
footnote. If we scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see it's
automatically put in all that nifty text including a link to it, so that's
kind of neat.
Just to give them the full *** for the buck, let's go ahead and select
that video SEO and tell it to insert the link. It shows us the URL that
it's going to put in there, and I'm good with that.
Just to give me a little kudos, I'm going to look up Blue Link Videos.
That's something I had recently written about so that you can get attention
inside Google+. Let's go ahead and do research on that. We will CTRL-click
or right-click, then choose Research and then the name Blue Link Videos. It
gives us search results. There is my nifty graphic. I'm going to scroll
down the page just a little bit until I find my website link to it. There
it is, "Get Noticed on Google Plus using Blue Link Videos." Let's click
Preview just to verify. Yup, this is my document. That's the one I want. So
I'll close it and make sure we can insert the link just the way we want,
and we can also Cite it. If we scroll down to the bottom of the page,
you'll see there they are, those two nifty footnotes citing the reference
information that we found by researching right here inside Google Docs.
That should cover it for now. Let's go ahead and close it. We have our nice
larger working area inside Google Docs.
