Alright, you're looking at the TVisto Pro Media Player Box.
This is pretty much a hardrive enclosure but it's very versatile 'cuz you can use it
in a bunch of different ways.
Now, first of all, you can obviously use it as an external hardrive with USB 2.0,
you plug it in, you put stuff on it and you can take it anywhere you want.
But, in addition to that, you can also use it as a NAS,
which is a network- attached storage device,
which is pretty much, a hardrive server that you connect to your network and
you can access the files on it from anywhere in your home, or from through the internet.
Now, what's very special about this one though, what really brings it, you know,
differentiates it from the rest of the products like this on the market is the
fact that it has all the connectivity on the back,
to pretty much send all the information that's on here immediately to your television
without having to have a computer in the middle. You can use the provided remote control,
which is very useful, I might add.
And you can pretty much send out all the information on here directly to your T.V.
using a bunch of different interfaces. You do have an S/PDIF Audio,
so if you wanted to do really high-end video with good surround sound, you could do that.
And it pretty much has composite and components that are built into
an A/V cable adaptor that goes in right there. You also have USB 2.0.
And I'll tell you why that's important. It's because you can throw additional
external hardrives into this thing and play those on your T.V.
So, let's say a friend comes over with a USB flash drive, with a movie on it.
He can plug it in here and you can play it on your T.V. through the remote control
without any effort. Or, you can also add bigger external hardrives to increase your storage.
You can use it as a network attached storage device using this ethernet port right here.
And you can load stuff on it with this USB 2.0 port right there.
Power, on, off. And then in the front you'll notice you have little indicator lights where
USB, power, ethernet and for infra red when your remote control is being used.
Also, you will note, very nice, I might add, is you have thick rubber feet.
Those are going to keep everything quiet and vibration free.
They're also going to give you a gap between the floor,
so you can suck in cool air.
Which, it does have a fan.
And that's gonna help promote the life of your hardrive, which is excellent.
Now, before I get into what type of formats are supported, and how you use this thing,
what kind of cables can you use, does it do HiDef, which I will tell you,
it does do HiDef. I'm gonna show you, first of all, how to put it together,
because that's important. You gotta know what you're doing.
So, very simple. You're gonna notice there's some holes here, and here.
And what you're gonna do, you're gonna take a small screwdriver,
or any kind of small flat object, and you're just gonna push down
with a little bit of force, and that's gonna pop it open on both sides.
Like such. Now, once you have it off, there is a small cradle on the inside,
as you can see right there. So, what you're gonna do from here,
is your gonna pull this cradle out to put a hardrive inside.
Now, I have a one terabyte Hitachi hardrive right here,
that Hitachi was very nice to give to me.
And I'm gonna go ahead and throw it in there. But, there's also bigger hardrives nowadays,
as high as 1.5 terabytes, which is very, very large.
That means you can put a lot of media on here. And, now, just to give you an idea of
what type of amount of media can go on here, most DVRs nowadays are about
60, 80, 120, 160 GB. This is a thousand GB.
And those 1.5s are 1500 GB. So think about what you store on your DVR now.
And imagine it being on here instead. You'd get a lot more content, a lot more movies,
a lot more videos, and well, you know, everybody wants more, so.
Let's go ahead and put this in here, real quick.
That's right.
Alright.
Arlight, so now that your NAS is attached, you have a hardrive installed
and it's ready to go. Let's connect it to the T.V. Let me show you how you can connect it.
Now, you have a bunch of different ways of connecting this. It's a... you're gonna see now,
lots of cables. And first of all, let me show you this one.
This is just your regular old USBA-USBB cable. And this is pretty much how you're
gonna put your stuff on the hardrive from your computer. Now, on top of that,
you have VGA, so if you wanna use VGA with audio you can and it will go to this HTMI,
well it's not really HTMI, it's something else.
It's proprietary and that goes in on one end. But, most likely, what you're gonna be doing,
because you wanna do HD and you wanna do 1080i to your HiDef television you paid so much for,
and you love so dearly, you're gonna wanna use these.
And these are pretty much your components with your audio, as well as
they plug into this end over here. So, pretty much this is an adaptor, and it's gonna plug-in
right over here. And then this is gonna go directly into the back of your television
through these cables. Now, also included, let's say you have an older television,
and you don't necessarily wanna use HD. It doesn't have the inputs for it.
You can either do a four-pin analog as video cable, or you can do RCA cables,
which will also work. And again, they go to that same connector on the other side.
They also provide you with an ethernet cable which is extremely useful.
And last but not least, a Scart adaptor, In case you live in Bulgaria or something.
You can definetely use a Scart adaptor if you're in Europe.
Or in Asia they do still use these for analog television input.
And, last thing I'll tell ya about is, let's talk a little bit about
the types of formats that are on here. It's got some of the most popular ones.
The ones that you're most likely to use. So, let's talk about those.
First of all, for video, MPEGs 1, 2 and 4 are all used. You can also use WMV9,
and you can do ISOs.
For music you can do WAVs, MP3s, OGCs, and AC3s, which are all the most popular formats anyway.
And then for photos you can do JPEGs. So, pretty much, you can set up a slide show
of photos. You can listen to your music. Or, you can watch any videos that are in those
supported formats. It's a great product, and I'll tell you what. It's not even expensive.
It's very affordable. You get to choose what size hardrive you want in it,
and if you have a T.V. in your house that has no cable or no nothing,
this is a great way to get content to it, so you can actually watch stuff on it.
Again, you can also use it as network to have storage device, which is excellent.
And you can even take it to other people's houses and use it as an external hardrive
enclosure where you can take it to their T.V. and say,
hey, moving out of your house? Hang on, I'm on the way with all my HiDef content.
Right on here that I loaded off of my computer, or over my network, or over the internet,
it's great. Fantastic product. Again, it is the TVisto Pro
