Hi. My name is Nathan Toups. I'm the owner of rojoroboto... which is a small I.T.
consulting company here in Austin, Texas.
I'm pretty non-traditional in the sense that I have a background as an Apple-based
I.T. consultant. There is a type of entrepreneur that embraces disruptive
technology.
It would be really neat to have a Core Conversation at South by Southwest 2013 about
deploying disruptive technology for fun and profit. This idea that, what if we
get a group of entrepreneurs in all different walks of life. I mean, I do
I.T. consulting. I have a business partner
with a software start-up that I am working on who also is a
web development and Amazon EC2 consultant. There's a lot of similarities
a lot of neat things that cross over There are ideas that we exchange that are
really useful to one another.
We are both
solo entrepreneurs. We are able to leverage big-data infrastructure to actually help us
stay smaller,
stay leaner, stay more profitable,
and react to changes. That's the big thing, right? So we don't know what is going to
happen two years from now. This is where, this is the whole purpose of this core discussion.
I think that we can really get all these people together and we can just talk
about
how to build lean, profitable companies, based around this
sort of modus operandi of
deploying disruptive technology. And so I think there's a lot of different areas
in the interactive and the tech world that this
kind of fits in. I think it would be really really fun
to have a Core Conversation, to have this open meetings open meeting, open discussion with people of all sorts of
different perspectives on sort of how these this new sort of a economy is coming
to be and
How do we take these really abstract ideas? How do I take the cloud
and then teach a client, who I think would really benefit from it, how to use,
maybe, this new infrastructure. Or maybe this new way you thinking about your data
flowing.
Or maybe how do I convence them to abandon this old bad idea that they have
maybe they have invested a lot of money into.
I think this would be a great talk for developers. I think this would be a great talk for IT professionals.
This would be a great talk for tech savvy small business owners
i'm a big believer
in this twenty first-century approach. That's the whole thing, its that
really what we are talking about is behavioral changes. How to get ready
and and be functionally fit
for the changes that we know are coming.
But anyway, I really hope that this video helps make
my point. And, I really hope that we get to have this Core Conversation together about
deploying disruptive technology for fun and profit.
