(Sükran Altun, Head of Multipurpose Community Center in Batman) We created a company.
Under the company we started to produce the brand of Argande.
This brand was initiated by the cooperation of GAP administration, UNDP and Batman Governorship.
Our aim was to cover all Batman city; reaching and employing more women. Saving one woman is saving one family.
[Gönül Sulargil, Project Coordinator] In Argande project we aimed to create a brand based on production of women in the region.
We aimed to do this completely by the help of leading fashion designers in Turkey.
In this atelier 35 girls are employed.
35 girls are employed with salary and insurance.
Governorship provided the factory area four our girls.
The number of girls could rise up to 200, 300, 500 and even more.
[Rojin Asli Polat, Fashion Designer] When creating this collection, I visited the city of Urfa in May. As I was walking, I saw some archeological excavations. I think it was in 2007.
I was impressed by mosaics.
There were Amazon warriors on mosaics,
I think I have selected colors and fabrics under this influence.
[Hatice Gökçe, Fashion Designer and Design Coordinator] We have just exhibited this year's spring-summer collection.
Our concept was based on Nemrut and Commagene Kingdom.
This season, designers Rojin Asli Polat, Aida Pekin, Alex Akimoglu and Günseli Turgay supported us.
Actually, it's a huge thing to be able to organize a show at Istanbul Fashion Week and...
...it is amazing to see that it has been made possible.
As always our sales will continue at Mudo stores.
Our purpose obviously is to make our shows more professional and frequent and to be able to join international fashion exhibitions.
