Is it bad if a tattoo peels?
That depends on the type of tattoo. It is annoying when a temporary tattoo starts to
peel off.
This is a permanent tattoo. It is starting to peel, and I’m afraid the ink is trying
to work its way out.
I hope you don’t have buyer’s remorse over the tattoo, because the only solution
to remove it is laser surgery.
Is the tattoo coming undone?
It is somewhat normal for the skin around the tattoo to start peeling or flaking.
Should I remove it?
Actually, you shouldn’t even touch it.
How do I get rid of it?
Leave it alone, and it should come off on its own in the shower. But don’t scrub the
area.
It makes the tattoo look bad.
If you pick at the skin, you could cause scarring. That will ruin the tattoo.
How do I end the peeling?
Put moisturizer on the skin to reduce the flaking. Cover it with a bandage so you won’t
pick at it.
I’m afraid the flaking skin could take off the tattoo itself.
It is normal to see dead skin flaking. If there is tattoo ink coming off with the dead
skin, it means the tattoo artist didn’t inject the ink deep enough.
Then I’m losing the tattoo.
Then you need to get a refund and get a touch up at a reputable tattoo shop, because you’ll
end up with black, gray and vague areas.
Reputable and tattoo shop are rarely in the same sentence.
Tattoos used to be the purview of criminals and the underclass. It is only in the past
30 years anyone thought of them as a fashion statement.
And now I look like a fashion dud.
That’s why people should look into henna patterns and temporary tattoos instead of
risking permanent mistakes.
I’ve heard of guys getting a girl’s name tattooed on his arm before they break up.
Then he ends up with a black panther there to hide her name.
And stupidity is the guy with several black panther tattoos, because he didn’t learn
the lesson the first time.
I guess that’s why a tattoo of Mom is so popular. It can’t go wrong.
Except for the peeling you’re experiencing.
