Symposium 20x20 Sketcha Kucha
is a project implemented in cooperation with the EU.
It is designed to fill the gap
between advanced materials and designers
who use them in their work.
The most important thing
is to make these technologies into real products.
I personally love experimenting
and prefer using materials in a certain context.
Material makes your design
into a product which serves its given purpose.
That´s what I think this seminar is about.
Sketcha Kucha is an interesting format.
People who have listened to presentations on advanced materials
form pairs to speak about the potential use
of such materials in the today's topic - LIGHT.
The pairs then meet with other pairs to improve their designs.
This exercise should result in 20 designs
on individual materials and their use.
We very much appreciate presentations by experts in lighting.
We make our product in different varieties, including edge lit panels.
That is why we kept looking for a supplier or technology
to suit best this particular use.
We think that we have found it today.
It is pleasant see the world developing.
Materials and ideas are more and more advanced every day.
It is a great feeling to be a small part of it.
Behind me you can see the output
of the London and Copenhagen workshops.
Designs produced here at the today´s workshop
will be displayed in Barcelona at the final festival.
