When you are unwell and you need to see a doctor, you can visit any of the public health
hospitals or clinics. You will first need to go to the Social welfare department with
your recognizance papers to get a medical waiver form. The medical waiver form is dated
for the day that you wish to see the doctor. You will need to bring the medical waiver
form to the front desk of the public hospital or clinic that you plan to see. Plan ahead
of time, because this process can take awhile. If there are no time slots for you to see
the doctor that day, you will need to return to the social welfare department to get another
medical waiver form, otherwise it will be invalid. Generally, this needs to be done
every time you want to see a doctor, unless it is a chronic medical condition in which
case you can inform the social welfare department, and they may give you a permanent medical
