Nichole: Alright. Hello and welcome! Thank you for joining us on a special episode
of the Successful Weight Loss Show. Today, we're gonna spotlighting a successful sister.
As you know, I am the founder of the Successful Weight Loss School. And yes, I helped women
to lose weight and feel incredible by partying with life. But have you know, Successful Weight
Loss School is more than just weight loss. It's a lifestyle makeover for a life long
success. Today, we're spotlighting a successful weight loss sister, who has found massive
success on either relationships, food, wealth, health, career, sex, life, business or love.
Our successful sister today is Stephanie Merchant; who is giving us some of her top and inside
of her secrets on how to change your nutritional habits so they actually stick. Because we
would really like you to achieve the level of success that she has. Alright, Stephanie,
welcome to the show! Stephanie: Thank you! I'm so happy to be here. Nichole: Alright.
Tell us a little about your business and what you teach your clients. Stephanie: Alright.
Well, I am a Nutrition Mom and a Health and Lifestlyle Coach. Basically, like most of
us, I was my first client. So really when I was discovered was when I learned more on
how to nourished myself and let go of 50 pounds. My first client, Me. My second client, my
husband and he let go of 50 pounds, so a hundred pounds together. That let him to change careers.
That let him to find his inner athlete. I just have this passion to share this information
to many people as I can. So now that I am a nutrition mom and I m trying to spread that
information to other busy moms. I'd really worked with busy moms. Busy moms who have
struggling already with time and trying to figure out how to nourish themselves and their
families. Nichole: Yeah. Well that's great! I actually knew that you lost 50 pounds and
then you tackled your husband too! That's great! What you saw awesome to work with busy
moms because they are the people that need this the most and the people who actually
put them on the back burner the most. So I love that you're really working with moms
cause you re a mom too, I would assume. Stephanie: Yes I am. Nichole: So you're living that lifestyle.
What are the few tips that you could give? Really, I mean busy women could use these
tips but also moms also as well to really start establishing a healthy nutritional diet
that they actually stick with. Stephanie: The first step I think you really need to
know is where you are now with full awareness. Sometimes it s easy to say you know that.
But I'm really think about, think about where you are and where you want to be. And when
you think where you want to be, then it brings a smile in your face. You know being excited
about it. I think very often, just like you said, we're very busy, we don't give a lot
of thought to what we're doing to take care of ourselves. We're just trying to show up
the next pace of time. We don't give a lot of thought about nourishing ourselves. And
let me tell you. Your whole life needs attention? Hey, get some attention to where you are and
where you want to be. That's the first step. It sounds easy but it goes a little bit deeper.
It really does. And so I encourage people during this. So the next step Nichole: Hold
on Stephanie. Let's touch on that one really quick. So when I think about women when I
have them kind of look back into health and where they are now is they are... And I'm glad
you brought up this smile thing because they feel this sense of guilt, like debilitating
guilt when we really just take a look like, "Okay. Well, how did you get here." Then they're
just like, "Well..." Then the Helga the sabotaging voice gets really loud and brings them down.
So I just want to really highlight what's that mean said, is that when you are imagining
yourself in this ideal and this ideal lifestyle is be excited for the journey. Be excited
for and don't let it bring you down because a lot of women are trying to be healthy and
trying to lose weight and they fail so then when they think about that goal they're kinda
more of like, "Okay. Here we go again. Gonna try this again." And that is totally setting
yourself up for failure because your belief is no there. So I love Stephanie said, the
first step to really changing your habits is acknowledging where you are excepting them;
not feeling you guilt, not holding you back because the guilt is just gonna keep you right
here. It's not gonna make you to that dream body or lifestyle that you want. And be really
visualize it and excite about it. And smile about it. I think that's really great advice
Stephanie. Okay number two. Stephanie: Number two is to take action. Take action. You would
not believe. Again, my tagline is simply healthy solutions. And I know that taking action sounds
extremely like a simplistic idea but that one thing alone, sets apart the successful
people from the unsuccessful people. You have to take action. In that, I understand that
there are a lot of mix messages. A lot mix messages come out at us all the time. So again,
what I do is just evaluate people just take a four baby steps. We're gonna build our successes,
we're not gonna change overnight because we know the easiest thing to do is to fall back
into old habits. So what we're doing as we re creating new habits. How do we do that.
Fundamentally, what we want to do is we just simply start cleaner choices. Part of our
awareness is realizing how we nourish ourself. What choices are we actually making? I know,
speaking as a busy mom who was just running from one thing to the next I did not put a
lot of thought into the food that I was choosing and it is amazing how many others don't. You
know, it's just eat something and run. It was important to array with the next time activity
than it was actually to think about what we were eating. And again that's part of that
awareness. And part of taking action is making better choices. Does not mean you're not gonna
overnight. You're only gonna shop at farmer's market or early gonna buy or in at 100%
or da da da da da. No. That' s not that mean that. But it means we're gonna make steps
towards that all the time, every day we're gonna take a step. And we're still feel good
about and empowered about it, we're not gonna feel like it's a burden because it's not because
we're celebrating, caring about ourselves and caring about our families to make these
choices and it feels good. That's part of self-care that's just so important. Nichole:
I love that. And it's so funny because in Successful Weight Loss School, I give them
videos to watch about nutrition, exercise or diet, whatever. And I asked them, "Okay,
so what class did you do and watch" and they're just "Yah! That was so great! I love it!"
And I said, "Oh! Awesome what have you ve been doing?" And they're like "Oh! Well I haven't
really started on that stuff yet." And it's like, I love. It's just so simple. Get into
action. And there's so many things we need to do from A to Z. And we don't. Just a step
we're saying. It's one choice. One choice. That's all you re gonna doing. You're at lunch
and you're opening a menu in a restaurant and there is your action step for that. It's
so very simple. Maybe if you always get a salad, you get sour without cheese or croutons
and dressing on a side like that little tiny step is exactly what Stephanie is talking
about, we are building and building and building and that leads to massive success that easy
thing does not work. I love that. So what's the last step here Stephanie. Stephanie:
The last step is to celebrate. We want to celebrate step of success. And celebrate non-food
style. You know, so often now every celebration has to do with food or you're gonna meet your
friend making for lunch. Or maybe you're meeting at the park instead. Maybe you can celebrate
yourself by buying that book that you've been wanted or that skinny jeans that you've been
watching. I just want people to feel good of what they re doing and it's so important
for us to celebrate. To celebrate is a wonderful changes that we're making to feel really good
about them. Nichole: Yeah. I love that. The non-food. I mean it's big because lot of women
attracted into my business is because they are emotional eaters. I think most women are.
But we've been worried ourselves with food and we didn't discipline ourselves with food
and it's such an unhealthy habit to have. And when you do something great and reward
yourself something with food, you're actually encouraging emotional connection. And I love
how Stephanie said. Go out and take yourself like a 90-minute massage. I mean tell yourself,
When I reached.. Maybe it's a certain stone for you of. Maybe it could be a weight loss
school. Or could be I'm waking up. I'm not dying for coffee in the morning. Or I walked
a couple of stairs and I'm out of breath. Maybe that's a milestone for you that you're
like, "Okay this deserve a success. I ll take a bath. I'm going to get massage. I'm
going to get a pedicure". You know what lights you up. Make those things your little goals.
I think it's so big because it's so much of our focus as you usually lack. And you need
to work on as those little steps that we have made. Stephanie: Absolutely . We want to focus
what we're bringing in. Not what we're taken away. It's a whole mind-shift. Nichole: Okay
Stephanie. Why won't you tell everyone where they can find you because I think your content
is awesome. I love your style on what you have in the show. So tell them where to find
