CU Now - timely topics for credit unions
presented by your association with support from Pacul Services
Hi I'm Patrick Conway
I wanted to take this opportunity to personally invite you to our annual
convention and expo,
May 18 through the 20th in Atlantic City I've heard a lot of positive comments
about the last time we were in Atlantic City
so we're headed back to the boardwalk to Ballys. It's been exciting being a part
of the planning that goes into our convention
starting with our theme, Forward Together. Forward Together is all about us working
together
in the spirit of cooperation as we embrace new challenges and welcome new
possibilities ahead.
Our convention is a great place to learn what's new in financial services
through educational sessions, the expo, and of course networking with your peers
The convention begins on Sunday afternoon with our annual business
meeting
followed by a welcome reception at our Expo. We're excited to have Craig Karges
as our keynote speaker this year.
Karges is a unique entertainer that has appeared on The Tonight Show
and is the author of the book Ignite Your Intuition. He'll reveal his own
techniques to program the subconscious for success.
Attendees will choose from more than a dozen breakout sessions over two days
featuring dynamic speakers such as Matt Davis, Mike Patterson,
Julie Ferguson and Chris Pippett just to name a few. On Monday evening we'll hear
from the best and the brightest young minds in the movement
as we select this year's Pennsylvania Credit Union Youth Ambassador.
I'm looking forward to hearing our foundation breakfast speaker
Susan Tachau. Tachau is executive director the Pennsylvania Assistive Technology
Foundation.
She'll discuss efforts to provide financial education for people with
disabilities
with assistance from our own foundation. Tuesday morning will hear from Lerzan
Aksoy
a marketing professor from Fordham University. You'll want to hear her insights
on the science of loyalty.
how to develop loyal members and how to build a support structure that ensures
your own success.
After the general session be sure to stay for our credit union awards program
where will recognize the very best examples of our credit union philosophy.
We'll conclude the festivities by toasting the Lifetime Achievements of
our credit union professional and volunteer of the year.
Our entertainment Central Park the Band
is sure to have everybody on the dance floor.
While I may be new to the credit union movement
I've learned that not only the credit union people know how to have fun
but they're eager to share ideas as well. This type of cooperation can help your
credit union serve your members
even better. So let's go forward together. For CU Now
this is Patrick Conway. Hope to see you in Atlantic City.
