Hi, this is Stephanie Manley with CopyKat.com. Today I'm going to show you
how to make homemade pizza dough. It's so quick and easy to make that
you're probably going to wonder why you haven't made this yourself, and
with a food processor you don't even have to knead it so it's very, very
easy.
We have a few simple ingredients in here. We have yeast. Now I buy mine in
the bulk size because it's a little bit cheaper. If you have it in the
envelopes, that works really well, too. I also have a little bit of salt, a
little bit of olive oil, some flour. If you happen to have it, you can use
dough improver. It helps with the flavor a little bit, but if you don't,
don't worry about it, you don't need it. You also need a little bit of non-
stick spray for the dough.
So why don't I show you how to get started. The first thing we're going to
do is we're going to go ahead and proof our yeast. I am going to put two
and one quarter teaspoons. That's one package of yeast into here. I'm just
going to give this a stir and let it bubble. Now if you have some old yeast
in your cupboard that you haven't used in a while, go ahead and make sure
it bubbles. Otherwise, your dough is never going to raise. We're just going
to put this to the side.
The next thing we're going to do is we're actually going to measure our
flour and stick it here in the food processor. So there's a trick in
measuring flour. You actually want to scoop the flour into the container
that you're measuring with and then level it off and then put it in. Now
with this recipe you can use either 22 ounces of flour or you can use four
cups. Since it's pizza dough, it can be very, very flexible. So I just
measure it out.
The next thing we need to add in here is our salt. We're going to add one
teaspoon or so of salt. Go ahead and put that in there, and you can see the
bubbles have started in here. So the next thing we're going to do is we're
going to put our warm water in here along with a couple tablespoons of
olive oil.
I'm just going to go ahead and blend this up, and we're going to add in our
remaining water. You may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl to make
sure everything gets well blended. My dough is done right now. I don't even
need to knead it so what I'm going to do is I'm going to spray a bowl here
with a bit of non-stick cooking spray. If the dough is a little sticky,
don't worry about it. It'll be just fine. So we're going to put our dough
in here, and we're going to let it rise for about an hour.
So it's been about an hour, and you can see that this pizza dough has
raised up wonderfully. I'm going to put a little flour on my board here,
and this recipe actually makes enough for a couple medium sized pizzas.
I'm just going to put a little flour on my board. I'm going to take about
half this dough, and I'm going to show you how you can make a quick and
easy pizza. I'm just going to flatten it out a little bit, and if you're
real handy you can toss it up in the air like they do in pizza parlors, but
I'm actually just going to use my roller.
I'm going to try to shape this in a circle. Now if you like a thicker
crust, go ahead and let it be thicker, and you can see that it's going to
be quite nice here. I rolled out my pizza dough fairly well, and I'm just
going to go ahead and place it on my pan here, and I'm just going to kind
of round the edges just a little bit where it's extra.
This is so easy. The next thing I'm going to do is I'm simply going to take
some pizza sauce. I'm going to put this on. You can use any toppings you
like. I'm going to spread out my sauce a little bit. I'm going to add some
mozzarella cheese. I'm going to put some pepperoni on it, and I'm going to
finish it with a little more cheese and then I'm going to pop it into the
oven until it's nice and golden brown.
We've just made homemade pizza dough and it was so quick and easy. It takes
just about an hour, so you don't need to go out for pizza. You can make it
at home. So please be sure to give this video a big thumbs up. Rate,
