So, somebody goes to dinner, and when they get home,
there is a completely renovated space.
That kind of blows your mind.
All right, guys! Let's wrap it up!
We've been wanting to do the home remodeling.
So, our mark this week is Lauren.
Black coat, black getup.
This job is priority.
This one is gonna be challenging.
There is a wall coming down.
So, let's get this loaded up.
They just left.
This one here.
CORBIN: You got it! Get it! One more!
Whoo!
Everybody hold up.
All right. We're gonna need everything you got.
When they leave the restaurant, they cannot come directly home.
HUBER: Oh, that's bad.
We did not need that mistake.
VOREIS: If we need to buy more time,
I know exactly what I need to do later on.
That's not gonna go.
Take a look -- the cord.
Yeah, that's just not gonna work.
We got to fly.
We need at least another 20 minutes.
They're in the car.
Someone's about to get raided.

So, our mark this week is Lauren.
She's studying to be a veterinarian.
Her fiancé, Peter,
wants to surprise her with a new kitchen,
'cause they moved into a house together last year,
and they bought this house
knowing it was gonna be a fixer-upper.
Hey.
Good to see you.
This is Jim.
Hey. Nice to meet you.
So, this is the space. All right.
So, you know how this works, right?
Jim and I descend on your house with our team,
and when you get home after your evening out,
you have a completely new space.
Are you okay with that?
I am definitely okay with that.
Sounds great.
Okay. So, tell us what's going on with your space?
Oh, geez.
There's, you know, the mismatching cabinets.
So, we've got, you know, cabinets over here one way.
We've got cabinets over there another way.
Oh. There's a gap and no stile in the middle.
Yeah. So, that's fun.
I don't know what's going on with the top of the cabinets.
So that's kind of weird.
Another big thing is we really like having the island,
but it moves.
Oh, nice.
Yeah, a very nice feature.
Lauren had this idea of creating a dog bed.
Our dog really likes it.
Lauren really thinks it's hilarious.
All right, so, the one thing we need to put
back in the kitchen is a dog bed.
So, the rest of it can really go, is what you're telling us?
Okay. This is good.
So, why do you want to do this for Lauren?
Well, I really wanted to do this for Lauren
just 'cause she's been in vet school for almost four years.
She's wrapping up, but she works super hard.
We got engaged last year,
and then the year before, we bought the house.
We've been wanting to do the home remodeling
and that kind of stuff, and it just keeps getting pushed
forward and forward and forward.
All right. We're gonna tear it apart for you.
So, I'm gonna send you out.
Jim and I are gonna work on measurements
and get to work on our design.
Okay?
I would love to just get this out of here,
and with that wall down,
we can actually make this island more functional, right?
Yes, we can.
The bus is leaving.
Okay.
Come on in, guys. How's everybody doing?
CRAIG: So far, so good.
You haven't said anything yet.
[ Laughter ]
All right. Well, this one is gonna be challenging.
It is a large, open-floor-plan kitchen.
These are the soon-to-be Soderbergs,
and this is our mark. This is Lauren.
She's a veterinary student. This is her fiancé, Peter.
His plan is to surprise her with the kitchen
that we're gonna create for them.
Now, this is our spy, Adam,
and it's Peter's best friend.
Adam is a pretty sneaky guy,
so hopefully that's gonna work to our advantage.
This is the space.
Take a look at it, 'cause it's not gonna be there for long.
There is, just so you know, a wall coming down.
Take a look at that. Why not?
And in the kitchen space, everything new
and a couple appliances moving into a new space.
There's also a new hood vent going in, all-new flooring,
and a really cool tin backsplash.
Their old island had a dog bed in it,
and that's the only thing that Peter has asked us to keep
for his fiancée.
Now, over in the dining room, the lighting that's going in,
Tim, just for you,
we're working with a ceiling that's over 13 feet tall.
Yeah. I hope you have a big ladder.
Now, this old buffet is going away,
and there's a new one coming in.
This guy brews his own microbrew,
so we're gonna put in a keg for him.
CRAIG: Full of beer?
Full of beer? Not when you guys leave.
[ Chuckles ] Yeah, that's for sure.
So, here is the space that we're working in,
and we've got to do this whole thing
in about five hours while these guys are out to dinner.
So, I think we should get over to the actual space
and start planning it out.
We mocked up the space using photos that we put on vinyls,
so when the guys walk into the mockup,
they feel like they're actually in the space.
All right, guys. Welcome to the space.
How much are we actually replacing?
Everything is new.
Take a look around this space,
really get familiar with it.
Think about any problems you might have
before we get to our work in the warehouse today.
I'm meeting up with Peter and the spy right now,
and I'm gonna try and get as many hours
out of them as possible.
Every hour you can get.
Every hour.
All right. Good luck, guys. I'll see you in a minute.
See you.
MATTHEWS: All right, you guys. Well, welcome to our warehouse.
We're getting ready to attack.
It's gonna be amazing.
I'm gonna take this chunk of wall down, too.
Why?
[ Laughter ]
What I want to talk to you guys about is making sure
that you have the entire evening planned down to a "T."
I was gonna bring Lauren to dinner,
you know, take a long time at the restaurant --
seven courses, I think. So, take our time.
Absolutely.
Okay, so how long is it gonna take you
to get from your house to downtown?
Yeah.
So, I got an hour and a half right there.
Easy.
Right.
What are you gonna do to get us that extra hour?
We'll go to his car.
I'll let the air out of the tires.
That is a good friend.
All right. Air out of the tires.
You'd do it to me, too.
So, you're gonna be in constant contact with me
Okay.
Will do.
And as many contingencies as you can get for us that night
No problem.
All right, you guys. Thanks for coming in.
Great. Thanks.
MATTHEWS: So, this morning is our first warehouse build
for this kitchen project.
Jim is gonna be working on the center island
and getting countertops in.
52½.
I've got Scott working on the bar area.
And I'm gonna have Andy focusing on cabinetry.
We've got to figure out
how all these components go together.
It's the dog bed!
HUBER: [ Laughs ] That'll work, huh?
Oh, that's perfect. That's absolutely perfect.
[ Saw buzzing ]
They got fridge, window.
There's dishwasher, skinny cabinet.
Don't pinch your finger.
And I'm assuming there's a panel for that.
There we are -- cabinet E.
Yeah.
Yep.
So, we're looking pretty good.
MATTHEWS: So, Tim, how long do you think all of this is gonna take you,
considering the new appliances?
I'm gonna need all five hours. I'm gonna need it all.
Now, you haven't even tackled any of the lighting
No, I'm considering all that.
It's all in my head. It's all gonna take forever long.
It's gonna be right down to the wire.
Yep.
Okay.
WOMAN: Here are the grilled oysters with salsa verde.
They have finished up their third course.
They're gonna be home by 8:00.
They just left.
They're in the car.
[ Saw buzzing ]
Come on over! We're gonna get ready to load everything in!
The timed build today is gonna be the most crucial part
of this whole warehouse process.
We got to figure out how long
it's gonna actually take us to get this stuff in there.
All right, you guys ready to take a look at your timeline?
I broke it down hour by hour.
The wall in the kitchen is coming down
and that dining room built-in.
All of the cabinetry is coming down.
Now, as we get to hour 2,
Tim is gonna begin the electrical for the keg.
And obviously we can't put that new console in
until he gets all his electrical work.
Moving forward, hour 3.
That's where you two, Craig and Scott,
are gonna start tag-teaming that floor
and trimming at the same time.
Because the floor is gonna be going on
probably for three hours, and we're gonna need
most of this build to get all that flooring in.
I can't get over how much trim and floor
that's gonna have to be put in.
MAN: That's a lot.
Let's get to work and time everything, all right?
Okay.
Cool.
To see if we can get at least
a rough estimate of where we're at,
I'm gonna consider the time it takes to demo,
the time it takes to get everything out of there,
how it's gonna feel working around a million extra people,
and I'm gonna take off 50% of our time.
So, I'm gonna start us at 2½ hours in.
Whoa.
Ben, since there isn't
actually any plumbing for you today,
Sounds like fun.
Yeah, that ladder that you're leaning on
is gonna be your best friend,
and all I want you to do is carry it around
and put it in front of someone that's trying to work.
HUBER: Yes.
We've got to go in the in.
CORBIN: Okay, got it?
Oh, that's right.
The dishwasher's in between here. Oh, my gosh.
MATTHEWS: Cut it apart! Cut it apart!
HUBER: Yeah, we got to cut it in half.
You're never gonna take that wall out like that.
You see? It just hit the ceiling.
I'm optimistic.
I'm timing you! I'm timing you!
Oh, yeah.
CORBIN: Looks like a cabinet to me.
Oh, well, where's it going?
Over that way.
Right on the other side of where you're at.
You're just gonna have to find something else to do.
Oh, look at that.
And already, a ladder in the way.
[ Laughs ]
I'm going in blind.
Yep.
Remember, though, this one does get set first
Okay.
Okay. Good point.
And you need that filler strip.
[ Grunts ]
Okay, you guys. So, here's the news.
We're at 20, about 26 minutes, right now, into this,
and if we count the 2½ that I gave you on the top,
we're on about hour 3.
Tim is still electrical. Paint is going on.
Now you've got other ladders in the way all around the room.
Craig is trimming out the baseboard --
as you were, perfect,
and now you've installed this center island.
And, Andy and Anthony, installing the tin backsplash
should be right now.
Whoo-hoo!
Okay.
CORBIN: This stuff is not cutting worth a crap, really.
I mean, we're not even doing a nice job.
No, you can't butcher it.
Aah! Watch that!
SCOTT: Nice catch, Amy.
Okay, so, we're having a little issue with the backsplash
which keeps falling off the walls.
HUBER: [ Sighs ]
Well, we got to nail it on, then,
We can get nails.
Great.
And, obviously, the methods for cutting this are not working,
so we're gonna have to figure something else out.
We've got to problem-solve this tin
before we get into the build.
So, what do you need, Andy?
Yep.
There we go. Thanks, Andy.
Okay.
That'll stay up for now.
That cabinet is upside down, just so you know.
Oh, right on.
They'll love it.
Yeah, that's very cool.
All right, guys. Let's get this loaded up.
Base cabinets are coming first.
These are obviously going on last.
MAN: Yes, please.
Oh, let's get this out of the way.
[ Groans ]
She's heavy.
One of the generators can go underneath here.
Ingenuity.
All the precious cargo right there.
All right, you guys. You ready for another raid?
We're ready.
All right. I'll bet you money on this one.
If you get it done in five hours,
you can tap the keg and I'm making cookies.
[ Chuckles ] Uh-oh.
HUBER: Nice.
Sun's almost down, so that means it's "go" time.
I'm ready to be a spy.
Got my black wardrobe on, about to take off my beard.
Lauren hasn't seen me without a beard
in about 2½ years.
I don't think there's any way
she'll really be able to tell it's me,
unless I actually talk to her.
[ Sighs ] Haven't felt my chin in two years.
Let's hop in the cars
and head over to that lane over there.
All right, guys. Let's wrap it up.
Black coat, black getup.
Let's do this thing.
We're just coming up around the corner.
Gonna hold back a little bit, make sure they don't see us.
There's the house We're good.
All right. Here they go.
Peter's turning out.
Giving the call.
They just left.
We are lined up and ready to roll.
Sounds good. We're gonna tail them right now.
All right. We're ready to roll, you guys.
Hey, we're out of here! Here we go!
It's the first turn, right?
Okay.
You helping with the unload?
Oh.
This one here.
[ Truck beeping ]
Hello.
[ Dogs whining ]
All right. I'm going to get the last one.
Okay. They're good.
Shelves should be cleaned out already, people.
[ Dog panting ]
All right.
Here we go.
Have fun!
WOMAN: This is awesome.
HUBER: All we can do is set it here for now
till we get this car out of here.
30 minutes to get everything out of here, all cleared out, okay?
Peter and I spoke yesterday.
He's gonna take it nice and easy on the car ride.
We've got about 18 miles to go before we get downtown.
Once we get to the restaurant, then it's all on me.
Okay. All right.
Help me get the stuff out of here right now.
Sure.
MATTHEWS: You guys, if anybody has to go
to their truck for anything, leave with debris!
Ohh, nice.
So, what you're saying is you lost them?
Uh, no -- yeah.
This is not necessarily a good start.
Right now, we're coming into downtown.
Unfortunately, we have lost them.
CORBIN: You got it?
[ Cellphone rings ]
Hey, Adam?
Hey, Amy.
Hold on, Adam. I can't hear you.
I can hear you.
What's happening?
All right. We've just reached downtown.
We kind of lost them, but we're getting down into position
so we can watch where they're gonna park.
So, what you're saying is you lost them?
No -- yeah.
We lost them, but we're gonna find them
right in about a minute here.
Let me know when you have them in sight again.
All right. Will do.
30 minutes in, and Adam already lost them.
This is not necessarily a good start.
So, now we've just gotten down to the restaurant location
and doesn't look like Peter has arrived yet.
Uh-oh. That's not good.
Tim.
CORBIN: He's outside.
You see it?
I got a light!
Whoo!
So, here's where we're at.
We've got the bar area demo'd, almost all the cabinets are out.
We're looking pretty good as far as demolition.
The biggest problem is we keep blowing the breakers,
so we've got to bring a generator in.
Aah! And there we go again!
Terry.
Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Amy.
Great. All right.
So, great, you're gonna be keeping an eye
Yeah, yeah, electrical.
Okay.
This is your best friend for the rest of the night.
How's it going? Tim, nice to meet ya.
I'll give you a quick rundown if you got a minute.
[ Drill whirring ]
Do you want to get this out?
I want to get this top off here.
Right behind you, guys.
I got a door.
Yeah, there you go.
Whoo!
[ Wood screeches ]
I know. I know.
There we are.
Jim. I'm Amy.
Nice to meet you. Come on in.
Come on in.
So, you know what we got going on here?
Okay, so you've kind of looked over our plan?
Do you want to park yourself somewhere comfortable
so you can see the action?
Anywhere you want to be, okay?
Thanks, Jim.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Hey, Adam.
All right, Amy. We're in position.
We missed them coming in,
but we looped around and found their car.
And they've been seated.
Here are the grilled oysters with salsa verde
and some grilled lemon.
Looks like they've just been served their first course.
Hey, hold on! Everybody hold up!
One more time.
They've just gotten their first course.
Keep me posted. Thanks, Adam.
All right. Back to work.
They're eating their first course.
Let's hope they're slow eaters.
So, we got to get somebody on the breakers.
You're up.
Coming out!
This is the beginning of the rest of our night.
This is a great sign. We're at 5:45.
We've been here 45 minutes.
Everything is cleared out,
and we're already bringing new pieces in. That's good.
We didn't anticipate all that electric in that wall.
Our cooktop doesn't fit. You got to move everything down.
We're working backwards right now.
[ Drill whirring ]
CORBIN: Okay.
So, that being said, put the cabinet on.
Yep.
And, I'm sorry, your first name was again?
Oh, Terry.
Okay. So, sorry. It's just really chaotic.
It's just gonna be a little bar top
with a kegmeister here and a little, small fridge.
I think what I'll do is I'll just cut the cabinet out
right here for that receptacle,
and then that way, we have opening there, same with there
to feed the fridge in there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay. Perfect.
You guys, we're at hour 2.
We're doing good.
We're not doing -- What's going on?
I have no floor or trim going on.
So, we have a huge setback.
We were supposed to start flooring at hour two,
and the cabinets haven't been able to be set yet.
This is our first piece of the puzzle.
It's not going in because the electrical...
Hey, Tim, fill me in on what's going on with you guys.
Well, we just got the oven...
and the microwave ran.
We're trying to get the stuff cut in
MATTHEWS: Okay.
These guys need to start building the kitchen,
This is ready to go.
So, back here -- talk to me about when
I can have these guys start setting this.
SNYDER: That receptacle can still stay there,
'cause it's just a slide-in fridge.
I'm just running whips into this right now,
into that, and then I'll be good.
So, like, how long? Give me a time.
10 minutes. All right. Thank you.
Yep.
10 minutes. 10 minutes into hour 2 is not good.
You want me to cut it?
88½.
Oh, my God.
88½.
Let's throw this up here just to get it out of your way.
Yep.
Perfect. Yep.
Craig, you're my favorite person right now.
This is the only thing that's done in the kitchen,
CRAIG: [ Laughs ]
[ Laughs ]
It's not the progress I'm supposed to be making, but...
...it's progress.
Here, push this cabinet, will you?
CORBIN: So you need a hand, Jim, or a foot?
Twist it.
[ Grunts ]
It's time to call Emily at the restaurant,
find out how things are going on her end.
MICHAEL: Thank you for calling Spill the Wine.
This is Michael. How may I help you?
VOREIS: Oh, yes. Could I speak with Emily, please?
THOLEN: This is Emily.
Hello.
One thing I just wanted to clarify --
how many courses were planned for this evening?
There's seven courses,
and then we did a pre-course, as well.
Okay.
And which course are they on right now?
They just finished their third course.
In a little bit, they'll get some new wine and their fourth.
All right?
Yep.
So, I think we're doing okay on the meal right now.
We're approaching an hour and a half in terms of time.
Hi, Adam. What's up?
Right now, they had finished up their third course
of a confirmed 8-course meal.
And so, soon, they'll be starting their fourth.
All right, we're gonna need everything you got,
because if they're halfway through the meal,
they're gonna be home by 8:00.
That's not a good sign for us.
Okay, thanks.
They're halfway done with their meal.
They've been gone an hour and a half.
Who eats that fast?
I don't know, but they're an hour into their meal.
All right. So, we got to fly.
Here. Let's drill, uh...
It's this.
So, we don't have a cabinet here yet?
I need to buy her more time.
I also need to go do some recon on that car
in the back parking lot so I know
what's going on with that tire.
[ Smacks lips ] That's the ticket.
That's the one I'm gonna be taking care of.
Oop.
Got a message here.
Peter says, "Bwahaha. She suspects nothing."
Awesome.
Set it down.
That panel.
This is attached, now that panel's attached to there.
Okay.
We'll use 1x4 casing,
ripped to fill all this.
Okay. Good idea.
Yep.
[ Drills whirring ]
HUBER: Now we just got to shim that side up.
Get a level?
Yeah.
We got them down
for the stove and the refrigerator.
They can get in here and set it.
Okay.
[ Laughs ]
[ Saw whirring ]
[ Drill whirring ]
MATTHEWS: What? What?
We didn't put an end panel on this.
But we had one in the warehouse.
No, it's in the truck.
What are you looking for?
End panel.
[ Sighs ]
So, quick question.
Do we start at here and go up,
Yes.
That doesn't matter.
We'll put our end panel on top of that.
But our cooktop doesn't fit.
We got to move everything down.
Oh, that -- we did not need that mistake.
So, the cabinets got put in
before the side panel on the stoves,
and that means that...
they have to move the cabinets over.
Because if we don't get that side panel in,
the cuts don't line up for the stovetop and everything
that goes along with it.
So we're working backwards right now.
Way to go, cabinet installer.
So, we can slide that in?
Panel coming in.
CORBIN: Here we go.
All right. That was good.
Problem solved.
But time lost.
Talk to me about what's going on over here.
We're ready to start flooring.
We're finally at the point we're starting flooring.
Yeah.
I could kiss you guys.
Yeah.
All right. So, I'm gonna move out of your way.
Yes, please. [ Laughs ]
Amy, you're too kind.
I always wanted one. Thanks, Scott.
CRAIG: Now we have another problem.
What happened?
The flooring's at the very front of the truck.
Yeah.
Oh, Lord.
[ Grunts ]
All right, you guys! Everybody, heads up!
It's hour 3! We're a little bit behind!
We should have trim going on, the painting should be done.
We should be moving on to the upper cabinets,
and the tin backsplash should be going in.
Just so we know, that's where we're at.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Um...
Adam, can you hear me?
Okay, so, right now,
they are on their break,
and there's four more courses after this break.
So, Emily's doing a good job of buying us time there.
I got in contact with her.
So, they're still halfway through.
So, you just bought us, like, 35 minutes.
That's awesome.
And if we need to buy more time,
I know exactly what I need to do later on.
No, I'm gonna -- okay, well,
we're gonna need some more time,
[ Laughs ]
[ Saw buzzing ]
So, Adam just informed me
that they were able to buy some time at the restaurant.
The last time he called, about 40 minutes ago,
they were halfway through the meal.
And at this point, with our progress moving forward,
they're still only halfway through the meal.
So, that is a really good sign for us.
We got to lift that back up over that fence.
Here.
All right.
Just so you know, we have, like, two long pieces per box,
and that's it -- I'm not kidding.
I don't know what the deal is.
6, 9 3/4.
Let's glue it.
Okay.
And it's metal against the metal outlet.
[ Drill whirring ]
The edge there is looking pretty nice.
This is going good, right?
We're laying floor.
We're just happy to be laying floor.
Yes.
This Fast Grab's working way better.
This is a night-and-day difference.
So, we don't have to nail?
No, if we nail it, it'll probably just be aesthetic.
Great. Then don't nail.
'Cause it looks great anyway.
MATTHEWS: So, it's a really good sign --
The floor is finally going in.
The bar is done over here,
and we've actually got the tin backsplash going in.
The tin backsplash was surprisingly the one thing
that completely held us up in the warehouse,
and we thought it would give us a serious problem here.
But we got the problem solved,
we've got the right tools to cut it.
We don't even have to put the nails in
that we thought we were going to have to do
that would take extra time
because we're using the right caulk this time.
So, we're at a good point. This is good.
Oh, but lights are going out and on and out and on.
I think we're good.
Time to call Sue the tow-truck driver.
Hi, Sue. This is Adam the Spy.
SUE: Hi, Adam. How are you?
Say, I just wanted to give you an update.
Right now, they're about halfway through their meals.
I've scoped out where the car is in the back parking lot,
and their front driver's side tire
is perfectly in position for me to let the air out.
At this time, I haven't let it out yet,
but once I will do, I will let you know.
I'm probably gonna do it during dessert.
Okay, sounds good. Thanks, Adam.
Yep. Bye.
Just got off the phone with Sue, our tow-truck driver,
filled her in on where we are right now with the meal
and what the plan is in terms of letting the air out of the tire.
When it comes time for the dessert course,
I'm gonna get a text message from Emily,
and then I'll head back to the back parking lot
and I'll do the thing.
[ Saw buzzing ]
Now, you got to hold the hood vent up
to see where to run this tail.
Here. Okay, we can get rid of it.
[ Drill whirs ]
MATTHEWS: It is oddly quiet in here, you guys.
HUBER: Everyone's giving up.
Jim! Stop!
[ Drill whirs ]
CORBIN: This cabinet's not going anywhere.
Do we have anything to drink in here?
So, I just got off the phone with Emily
and confirmed courses.
There's been some confusion now.
It's really seven courses with kind of a snack,
so I'm gonna call Amy back and let her know
exactly what's going on.
Hey, Adam. What's happening?
I just got off the phone again with Emily at the restaurant.
I just want to clarify something.
We said eight courses.
It's really seven courses, and then they had this, like,
palate-cleansing snack in between them.
So, they don't have a half a meal left.
They have, like, 25% of a meal left?
Pretty much.
So, you just cut my time in ha--
We were celebrating, Adam. What's happening here?
I'll get to work on my next stall tactic.
Okay. Thanks for the great news.
Bye-bye. Well, that didn't go so well.
Okay. Let's go.
Okay. Let's just keep moving.
Take a look. The cord -- it barely fits in against this.
Yeah, we need to just add another outlet in the back.
[ Groans ] Tim's gonna hate me.
I wouldn't tell him right now.
No, not right now?
I think he thinks he's ahead at the moment.
All right. So, let's set it down.
[ Drill whirring ]
Ohh, I like that sound.
I love you, but I got to get out of here.
Let's see what's going on across the street here.
[ Cellphone rings ]
What's going on?
Well, I just wanted to call and find out,
now it's been three hours into this meal.
Adam, there's no flooring here.
We have unfinished walls.
There's no trim on any of the windows and doors.
Without a doubt, the air needs to come out of the tires.
All right. I got my trusty tool here.
[ Air hissing ]
It's going a little slow with the air-pressure checker.
So, as any handy technician would have,
is a flashlight and his multi-tool.
Yeah, that's way better.
Look at that.
It's pretty much getting to the flat point.
Gonna cap her off and get out of here.
That's really a tight spot.
I'll come this way.
It is 11 and 1/4 -- I'd go 11 and 1/4 just shy.
We splice onto that one and we go up and around.
I know.
Okay, let me just make sure this opens.
Oh, we're good.
Oh, good. Yeah, it's good.
14 and 3/8 by 11 and 1/4.
Wait -- oh, what?!
Oh, we have to plug it in.
That's not gonna go.
We have a cord that sticks out about 1 1/4 inch,
and we're just fitting in against the trim right now.
So, it's probably gonna unplug it.
MATTHEWS: Hey, Jim. Take a look.
The cord -- It barely fits in against this,
and check out the cord.
Yeah, that's just not gonna work.
'Cause I put it in there without plugging it in,
and it worked great.
Yeah.
Okay. So...
[ Groans ] Tim's gonna hate me.
I wouldn't tell him right now.
No? Not right now?
I think he thinks he's ahead at the moment.
So, don't tell him.
So, Tim gets to wire another outlet.
He's gonna hate me.
Hey, so, the electric is run to the fridge now?
Oh, we're ready for it.
So, you guys, it's the start of hour 5.
Actually, at this point,
everybody should be wrapping up their projects.
Everybody's laughing at me.
Okay.
[ Grunts ]
That thing never lost any weight the whole way over here.
Beautiful.
We're at 30.
It should go that way, right?
You want to be at 36 here, at a minimum, right?
Yep. 36.
All right. Come this way.
Oh, nope. Let's go this way.
Forward.
VOREIS: Well, they've left the restaurant,
and now they're heading out to the car
and they're about to find the tire flat right now.
So they're probably gonna do some kind of weird little dance
and be like, "Oh, no. What are we gonna do?"
And then he's gonna call a tow truck,
but it's really gonna be me.
I need to disguise my voice
so Lauren doesn't hear me over the phone,
'cause this tow-truck driver is gonna be a woman.
[ High-pitched voice ] Hello, City Towing.
Um, near Washington?
Yes, we are in the area.
We could be there in about 15 minutes.
Okay. Buh-bye.
[ Cellphone rings ]
I like it.
Hey, Adam. How you doing?
So, Peter and Lauren finished up their meal
just a little while ago and went outside
and found the flat tire.
They're back inside right now,
and I've called Sue from Schmit Towing.
And she will be over there in 30 minutes.
30 minutes. So, you just bought us until 10:30.
They're not gonna be leaving the restaurant
until 10:30, is that right?
At the very least, 'cause it's also gonna take them
All right.
and then it's about a 30-minute drive home.
Okay, so, you bought us until about 11:15,
so we've got a solid hour right now, right?
Solid hour.
MATTHEWS: Yep.
Yeah.
[ Grunts ] Please come out.
Oh, you son of a gun.
Looks great.
Hey, my dear? What happened?
This oven was in. It was done.
Oh, I just like working backwards,
just keeping the theme of the night going.
No, we had an electrical connection
in the back never got made.
Are you serious?
Tim!
I wasn't taking it out. No, it wasn't his fault.
You know whose fault it was? The guy right behind you.
It rhymes with Tim.
Jim. Sounds like Tim.
We had to take the oven out that we thought was done.
It's really bad in the night when the things
that you think are done aren't actually done.
It's okay, Tim. It's not your fault.
VOREIS: Hello?
Okay, perfect. Sue, it's Adam.
I'll give Peter a call, and he'll be right out.
[ High-pitched ] Hello, this is Sue, your tow-truck driver.
I'm here right now.
Please come on out.
[ Normal voice ] They'll probably be done within the next 5 to 10 minutes.
When they leave the restaurant, they cannot come directly home.
We got 5 minutes.
Peter just came out of the restaurant
and talked to the tow-truck-driver operator,
showed her what was wrong,
and now she's gonna take care of it.
He is planning on coming back out
as soon as that tire is inflated.
Hey, Amy.
The tow truck has just arrived,
and she's working on fixing the tire right now.
Well, what does that mean?
They'll probably be done within the next 5 to 10 minutes.
5 minutes -- so, that means we've got 30 minutes.
Is that what you're telling me?
That's what I'm telling ya.
When they leave the restaurant, they cannot come directly home.
We need at least another 20 minutes.
All right, party people.
If we're lucky, we have like 45 minutes,
but we might have 30, so let's hustle.
CORBIN: That is the ugliest hole, but there's a hole for you.
Thank you.
All right. Hold on.
All right. I got to buy them more time.
Okay, I'm talking to Peter right now.
I'm gonna send him to a gas station
to fill up his car on the way home.
That should buy us another 15 minutes.
KROMINGA: Amy?
Yes.
So, you guys have checked off on everything?
Thumbs up?
Thank you so much, you guys. I appreciate it.
Very nice. Very nice. Good job.
Ever been on a project this fast?
No. [ Laughs ]
Hey, Adam. What's up?
We're driving home right now, but we're going the long way,
and he's gonna be stopping at a gas station.
All right. Thanks.
All right, people. They're in the car.
Does anybody know where any underlayment is?
All right.
[ Indistinct conversations ]
Ben, you got your end for this fridge?
BENJAMIN: I will, yeah.
Get that shop vac out of the way.
CORBIN: Are we clearing this thing?
Yeah, you're clear.
Oh, my God.
Plug it in, at least. Hold on.
Plugged in.
We good?
We're good.
VOREIS: Okay, I'm gonna call Amy right now
and let her know how far away they are.
Hi, Adam.
Peter and Lauren just went to the gas station.
He's on his way home. He'll be home in about 5 to 10.
5.
All right, people. We got 5 minutes.
HUBER: Anthony!
We have a front door to the house anywhere?
That looks like one.
[ Saw buzzes ]
CORBIN: Okay, shut the door! We got to get this thing out of here!
Done!
Get this thing out of here!
Garage door.
Here we go.
What did I do?
Okay, she's in shock.
PETER: [ Laughs ]
Welcome home.
Should I go? Should I go? Should I go?
Okay, all right. I'm going in.
Welcome home! [ Laughs ]
What do you think of your new house?
LAUREN: [ Laughs ] It's really gorgeous.
[ Laughs ] I'm Amy.
Hi. Nice to meet you.
And you guys just got raided.
You went out for dinner, and you have a new kitchen!
[ Laughter ]
Your old bar is gone.
I know you guys like home brews,
so you got a keg going on in there.
All right, and a wine bar at the corner,
That's awesome.
Obviously, the kitchen is completely new,
But the one thing that he told us needed to stay was a dog bed.
Yeah.
All right, I want to introduce you to a few of the guys
that were in on this project.
You guys, come on out.
I want you to meet Jim. This is our construction manager.
Hi.
PETER: Good to see you.
I can't even imagine how much work
you guys did in such a short time.
We were almost in over our heads with this amount of space
and tackling a kitchen, and so there's no trim on the door,
but everything else is rocking and rolling for you guys.
[ Laughter ]
Holy cow!
How was dinner?!
It looks really good.
I was sitting in a car watching you the whole night.
Did you like that tire?
The tire? Was that you?!
No way. No way.
Yeah. A little bit.
Everything's hooked up and ready to go.
The water's flowing.
The electricity's on,
and you guys can cook up a storm.
All right?
Enjoy your night.
We're heading out.
Holy cow.
This is sweet. [ Laughs ]
It was kind of a hideous kitchen,
and I thought that it was gonna be like five years
before we were able to do anything nice with the house.
Now it's done, and it's amazing.
The new floor plan is so nice, and it's very bright.
There you go. It's the one I made.
I use the island nonstop. It's gorgeous.
It's so functional.
Good job.
Now we feed Toshi
at his little station every day.
That they could do all of this in one night
is really incredible.
