Make-A-Wish is using Bloomfire to help communicate with our regional board so that they can work
with the community to get people involved with the organization and raise funds to grant
wishes.
We'll be rolling Bloomfire out to our volunteers to help them communicate with our WISH families
in the field -- to do wish interviews and work with them until the wish is granted.
We have tried to use other knowledge sharing tools but when we were exposed to Bloomfire
we knew that was a good fit for what we wanted to do on a larger scale, especially because
our volunteers number over 300 -- having a central knowledge base where they can ask
questions as well as receive information from us in so many varied ways - we knew it was
a good fit.
Utilizing Bloomfire for our volunteers is going to be very beneficial. For instance,
our volunteers are often in the field granting wishes and sometimes need to look at forms
that they may have forgotten to bring with them; this will allow them an opportunity
to get that form and look at it and ask the questions that they need to get information
on from the Wish families in the field.
Also, as our office is closed on the weekends and in the evenings, this is when volunteers
are often out in the field granting wishes and interviewing families; materials they
might need will be available to them on the Bloomfire site so that they can communicate
and get the things they need at a time when we're not readily accessible.
One of the things that I really like about Bloomfire is the fact that various document
types that we can share whether that's video, or spreadsheets. As you might imagine, we
deal a lot with sharing information with our regional board, with our volunteers and we
do trainings a lot to bring volunteers up to date on certain things that they need to
know as well as our board. I think one of the things I like the most is to be able to
share those trainings and see when people have logged on - if they've looked at all
that material, and follow up with them on that.
So it just keeps that engagement and that conversation going for us.
