Hi I'm Daniel Allen with the Sacramento Association of REALTORS here with Steve Ostrom
to talk to you about listing presentations on an iPad
You know, first off with an iPad were pretty much into Apple and so when I switched over to Apple
originally
it's... the big thing on the iPad is Keynote instead of PowerPoint
but with the Apple store they are pretty good at taking in, like when I first went into Apple
I took in my PowerPoint presentation and they taught me how to change it over to Keynote.
And it was really, really good and really, really easy and I like the presentation platform easier
but like I did it first by myself, and our thing is a gold fish
so I had a thing where you can jump a goldfish from page to page to page
and I brought it home to my wife to say "Hey look what I did with my listing presentation"
and she peed her pants and deleted every single file
so but now she's made the presentation nicer. What I like about the iPad, as far as
presentations, is you can go, and it's got video in there also so it goes on, we use our companies
thing and you can put in your own pictures to it and there's ones on NAR
or like I said, you can take your PowerPoint presentations
and they'll convert it to Keynote for you at the Apple store.
And those Apple classes are great. This is what I like: you can put in video with it.
So we have this one goes on where it goes and shows one of our virtual tours
so it shows the people
basically, you know, video with mixed integration with Apple and the iPad
So that's one thing I like a lot, I do though when I go to listing presentations now
I bring the iPad and then I also bring the regular book and paper, it seems like most people that
have equity aren't really ready for a listing presentation, so I would bring that just solely I
still print it out
and it's easy to print it out as it is with Keynote and have it on here too.
My wife also, she'll
tells me to sync it so I don't have like every single listing property I
might be going on. I just have one or two on here as a set.
and what I've noticed that people think is neater and what I use more than presenting
I've used it a few times presenting and we've got the listing presentations too, but I use it on my open houses
and I just pick one random screen for people to see and I leave it out
and so it's there, and so I like that too. Because at open houses when I have people come through
that are thinking, usually you target move-up buyers, I can give my listing presentation
right on the spot. So I've done that twice.
And not like the people were ready to sign up. I got a feeling that when they do go make that
jump to go buy a live in home that hopefully they will give us a call
so it's nice because it's mobile, on-the-go we have one just basically loaded on at all-times
and then we run it when I'm doing an open house. I just have it on one slide or two slides
So I'm always ready to present, but I still if I'm going to a real listing presentation I bring both and let the people decide.
That's how I use it and I like it. But I do want to say one thing is, like I had an agent come
through when I was doing an open house and she was like "Oh my God! You're iPad presentation is so great I need to get one of
those"
You know were at the point where we can get an iPad and we can do that, but if you're starting out you don't need
to have the fancy, fancy, fancy presentation. There's nothing wrong with
whatever presentation you have just know it well I think. Don't get too
taken away with a technology where you feel like you need that, you don't need that
you just need to know your presentation material more than anything
That's this month's Tech Tip. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for next months. Thanks.
