>> TIM GALLAGHER: In our industry, BFG Supply has always been looked at as a technology
leader. We believe that technology is a difference maker. It is a driving point in a strategy.
It is a difference maker for our customer and our supplier. So we’ve utilized the
technology in this regard to help make sure that our team members can communicate faster
than anyone else out there.
>> ROB GLOCKNER: The efficiencies we have been able to gain, the reduction of costs
that come from that, the level of service to our customers and the business it drives
because of technology has allowed us to do business with our customers a lot of different
ways.

>> TIM GALLAGHER: BFG Supply Company, founded in 1972 right here in Burton, Ohio, started
off as a wholesale distributor to the professional growing industry.
>> ROB GLOCKNER: We service 23 states from 12 locations. In the last 10 years, we’ve
quadrupled the size of the business. Just two years ago, we had 100 people, and we now
have over 300 people. We made the decision to invest in the video conferencing technology
for a number of reasons. One is: We need to act really quick — with the acquisitions
we’ve done we’re constantly changing, looking at getting better.
>> TIM GALLAGHER: When we first looked at the project, we were looking for a partner.
We wanted someone that understood our business, understood our team.
>> DON BARKER: A big part of that that Tim identified was being able to collaborate more
effectively externally, with their business-to-business primarily focusing on video as a future solution
that they want to bring in place. Tim really saw that that was really the way that they
were going to be able to improve communications, provide increased capabilities, and really
allow more efficient communications with their customers.
>> TIM GALLAGHER: BFG uses our video and voice technology at every level of the organization,
from our team members on the floor picking orders and collaborating with branches when
they have to move product to customer service team members working with product specialists
to make sure that they have the right solution for the customer.
>> DOUG WOLFE: Cisco is continuously adding additional features. So one of the first things
we had was mobility, which was the ability for my phone to ring my cell phone.
>> ROB GLOCKNER: It’s saved our vendors a lot of time — it really positions us as
thought leaders in the industry.
>> TIM GALLAGHER: I think one of the things that we realized very quickly was the speed
to connect and the ability to create a close-to-in-person experience is well beyond any ROI metric.
>> ROB GLOCKNER: By bringing in that high-definition video conferencing, it essentially felt like
you have somebody at the end of the table.
>> TIM GALLAGHER: The expertise that CDW brought to the table was phenomenal.
>> DON BARKER: We have done over almost a million IP phone deployments, over 4,000 projects.
>> TIM GALLAGHER: You can tell they are well engaged and very interested in what you are
doing. They may have thousands of customers, but when you have a conversation with them
you feel like you’re their only one.
