This is the National Weather Service Office in Medford Oregon, and we're going to discuss
the potential for a white Christmas across the forecast area.
This is the national perspective, and you can see that the Cascades, Rockies, upper
Midwest, and New England have a greater than 50 percent chance for a White Christmas. Let's
take a look now at the local statistics. The map shows the historical chances for 1
inch of snow on the ground or snow falling on Dec 25th. A white Christmas has never occurred
at North Bend. The latest Climate Prediction Center Outlook
suggests below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation for December 21st through
the 27th. Overall, this supports the idea that there will be above normal chances for
a white Christmas for Northern California and Southern Oregon. Have a safe and happy
Holiday Season, and you never know, you might just wake up to a white Christmas.
