>>[background noise] Hi, this is Mike Jackson with Adobe Systems
and I'm here at the HIMSS 2011 Convention, Orlando, FL,
where shortly over 30,000 attendees are expected
to converge upon one
of the largest health IT shows in the world.
Adobe showing here at HIMSS, the first in several years,
is really important to us because it's going
to demonstrate exactly how committed we are
to this vital segment.
In the coming clips you're going to hear me interview some
of our premier partners who are going
to explain exactly how they leverage Adobe technologies
in their overall solutions to modernize healthcare
for our payers, providers, patients
and government agencies throughout the
healthcare ecosystem.
So I'm here in the Adobe booth with Steve Rankin
of Client Outlook and Steve is showcasing his eUnity solution
which is built on Adobe flash technology
for healthcare providers.
>>As a company we found a way to show high def images
in our web browser and that's high def medical images
which isn't normally supported in Flash or HTM browser.
By leveraging a service side type technology we were able
to develop, we can get these images both
in a browser and in the flash.
When we looked at the technologies available,
flash was by far the only way to go.
It gave us complete control over every pixel on that screen.
We needed diagnostic quality.
We needed that level of control.
We do not get that across all browsers.
We get an inconsistency of image presentation
because of each browsers different way
of showing [inaudible].
So we wanted full control.
We went with flash.
And we still wanted the marriage of technology [inaudible].
>>So I'm here in the Adobe booth and I'm here with Vlad,
who is with Ensemble, one of our premiere partners.
And Ensemble's here to demonstrate solutions
for the health payer market as well as PHR and EMR solutions.
So Vlad, thank you for joining me here.
>>No problem
>>We really appreciate your participation here
at the Adobe exhibit HIMSS.
>>A couple things that really set things apart
with the EMR solution that's been built out.
One is that this EMR solution can sit on top
of other EMR solutions so if an existing healthcare facility has
an EMR installed, you can bring this in
and have the UI layer sit on top
of whatever EMR system already exists.
And the second advantage we have, quite frankly,
is the fact that it's built by Adobe technology.
The reality is that building stuff
up with air reflects air in flash.
But again it makes the whole developing story much nicer,
much more efficient, especially from the developers perspective.
They can debunk their application very,
very quickly using flex and they can compile their mobile based
applications very, very quickly in flash so it's a really,
really good technology story and it's a really good story
from the health providers perspective
because they've already made an investment in EMR,
they don't have to make that extra investment, it's UI there
and can sit on top of it.
>>So what's the benefit of adding this EMR
on top of an existing EMR?
>>Well the common wisdom in the marketplace is that many
of the EMR systems out there have a challenging user
experience, the UI's suck in a lot of cases, to put it bluntly.
But what we've done with the MOBIA solution,
with our partners, Fortress, [phonetic] is build
on an engaging experience that tries to extract some
of the complexities that EMR systems have to make and try
to give it a really nice UI polish.
And again, that's something that you can't do
with many other UI technologies out there.
This shows how well you can leverage Adobe technologies
on the frontend and of course on the service end.
>>So I'm here now with Kevin O'Kragly from Twin Technologies
and Kevin has been highlighting his solution based
on Adobe technologies for claim submissions
for the commercial health payer segment.
>>We use Adobe LiveCycle Technology.
LiveCycle Technology gives us an excellent platform to be able
to build parts and deploy
to multiple devices including web browser, mobile device,
phone, even [inaudible].
So using this build once, deploy multiple technology framework
that really reduces the development time,
increases the cost to customization, we see a lot
of solutions that can't be repeated
but oftentimes needed to customers
[inaudible]
That really decreases that time and gets us out there ready.
>>Thank you for that overview.
We really appreciate you being here.
We look forward to many more success stories.
I know you have quite a few personal references out there.
So we look forward
to collaborating many times again in the future.
>>Thank you very much
>>Thank you.
Good luck
