What's up guys? Welcome to another episode from TastySauces.com.
I'm your host Billy D.
and today we got a little state battle of barbecue sauces. Did a couple Texas
barbeque sauces last week and we
got a few comments from some people that were hyping up this New York Dinosaur Sauce
so I figured let's
go check it out and do a little taste test.
So as far as the Texas
what we have represented is we got the Claude's Western
Barbecue Sauce
Now, the reason I know Claude's is because I use their brisket sauce on my brisket and it's
good stuff so
I have high expectations for this one
and then like the people from New York were saying, they wanted to get Dinosaur BBQ Sauce
represented. I was looking online at a lot of reviews and this one had a ton
of great ones so
I have high expectations for this one as well
So let's go against the taste test
Now looking at the Claude's Western Barbecue Sauce
As far as ingredients, it's got tomato paste, vinegar, sugar, salt,
corn syrup, a little natural smoke flavoring, paprika, and
some spices.
Let's check it out.
It is a dark brown color
It has a little sweet taste to it but it's really mild.
I can taste the natural smoke flavoring. It's pretty decent.
It's still pretty mild.
Not in love with this bbq sauce.
On the 1 to 5 scale, I would probably give it a 3 out of 5.
It is tasty and I will definitely finish this rib later but it's
not quite up to my expectations
lick their brisket sauce was
As far as spicy scale,
this one is relatively mild also so I would give it a 1 on the spicy/heat index scale.
Now moving over to the Dinosaur Barbecue Sauce
As far as the ingredients, they got crushed tomatoes, vinegar, sugar,
it's got mustard,
brown sugar,
So this one is interesting because bbq sauces are usually either mustard based, tomato based or vinegar based but this one has
all of those in there.
So I am interested to see how this one tastes.
This one is a lighter color, it is not a dark brown like the other but has more of a
mustard color
It has got a little tang from that mustard ingredient.
Not bad.
It is pretty good stuff
I am not huge on the mustard-based bbq sauces
So I can't give this one a
great score
i would have to say
this one is probably going to be a 3.5 out of 5
Heard a lot of hype about it and am not quite sure why it was getting such good ratings but
it's decent stuff.
As far as my spicy scale,
it has got a little kick, but really not much. I would probably give it a 2 on the spicy scale.
i'm sure I will get a lot comments below from people
who feel differently, but please speak up and let me know what you guys think and
Don't forget to tune into our next episode.
