all right we just watched the fourth episode of girls- and
the name love this episode was deep inside deep inside and I thought it was
a really great episode because it was a sharp contrast episode 3
in my opinion episode 3 we saw a lot of maturity
episode 4 we saw lack of maturity yeah me
up so basically the episode was about Hannah
finding out that her editor has just died we don't know exactly how he died
but she did go on Gawker
you don't find the details and apparently she is a
was the
immediate media thank you I love that I can totally see a website started with
you
arm and she just found out that he was are found in the hudson river again we
don't know the details but
up the whole point about episode was to show that Hannah doesn't know how to
deal with the issue of death
she hasn't had anyone close to her die before and she keeps saying over and
over again the episode that
she doesn't really care she's more concerned about her book
right and what will happen to hurt you book now that her editor is gone
with using a visit how I think this is one of the most dramatic episodes
they've ever done it was almost like watching a modern family episode where
all the threads are going in the same direction
I so that everybody is dealing with death and so negative thing in in
different ways and
I love the whole thing I love from but
just for discovering the head with her the friend that should I was there was
actually just ducky you're
yeah all the way that whole arc
played out very well but from the beginning when Jessa has a very just a
moment asking
Shana how someone she knew died
all so that she could think about the person she knew who died in exile
and then I'm not immediately after not have listened to the answer playing
through all the way to the phone call I thought that was well done in terms of
we'll hear once I did that phone call and the what and then going to see her
which
I also like the line your get cool looking has been I
he was really who is the real race evoke a life something that all the viewers
are thinking
so multiple times in this episode where were moments like
that where I thought that's that's how that's what I i woods
think but not say such as like is it still safe to be in the building
you know that I have made you know people are running out but I went to
state to stay on the just the thing I thought I thought that was
that was fantastic just seems like the kinda person who would fake her own
death to skip out on someone else
right just to do something that dramatic and she would think a bit is a beautiful
except somehow be orchestrated by the law order something out but
for her to have that pulled on her put her in that position if someone who's
doing the event and they didn't even have to have the fake funeral because
they knew the ones they invited her she wasn't sure what okay
to easy too easy I think I don't know if this is a flaw in my character but I
keep trying to use girls as
like an example a social phenomenon right so up one argument that people
always like to make about Millennials and keep in mind I fall under that
category is that we're all very self-absorbed and I think that this
episode
really push that stereotype because Shoshana
ashes explaining the one friend that she knew that died she was like yeah you
know she died it sucked but
I really like being the leader a back room so I was kinda good issues god-like
I'm hair braid bribe some that a 60
yeah and i was just like oh my god this is so terrible what do people really
think this way
%uh but I don't know I here's the thing about girls
any hits it at times hyper-realistic
yes and then at other times it's this hyper reality at a you know it's
at it's extremely spot on this is exactly how these
peep how out a person in a millennial will respond to the situation
and at other times it's extremely exaggerated and I think the show goes
in an hour but you know I think the writers will have a
really great line that is a city recall line and they'll work it in right after
a line that was
exactly as a human in that situation would
would experience and I think that what they do it create something that's
that's very unique to her voice and how
I think that's why people a lot and have a problem with the show is because
they get lulled into thinking that its it is it is naturalist or sort of semi
documentary or whatever
and then yeah it gets outrageous and an exaggerated but
at the same time the show is never signing off on any of this behavior
you know which i think is the mistake that people make it that that it's the
wall to wall street are you at all how can you show these people they're so
terrible I hate these characters
but will you're not supposed to be think they remade it was awesome the people
writing them don't think everything they do is also hearing where is that line
I think that line well it's a very uninteresting episode
if if I Hannah does what everyone in that situation does
everyone in that situation would be the would think
oh my gosh this guy is dead that's so sad
right or they're here but at least make concerning a problem that Leo and
there's an
I feel terrible that there's this and I I think there's a lot more self loading
a character like that I feel terrible that there is this
there is this thought in my head that with instantly what's happening with my
ebook
right exact but that's not a very interesting episode so I thinking you're
allowed to
with the fact that it it's little over the top a lot frequently that you're
allowed to have that play out in a way that's that's not realistic
so we also saw this really fascinating clash between Adam and head up because
add up really wanted to feel something he seems to be
almost hi promotion all which is I don't know if there's something really
refreshing about that because typically when you watch television shows it's the
woman whose high proportion on the guys the one is completely numb to it
feeling anything and he was just kinda outraged at how the first thing she was
concerned about was her book
and whether or not her ebook is ever going to get published now that our
editors dead
so I really like that and I also like the moment where I
Adam sister made Hannah seem like she's the crazy
leibovitz right because Adam sister supposed to be called insane
her and she just seemed completely sane in this one scene where there'll be no
lying down in a
what was at a cemetery and she's trying to get handed to feel something and
finally had a feels a little bit and it turns out that
you know the story was made up which leads us to
the really shocking ending I think of this episode where she then spins that
same yarn to add a minute like
what is going on here the US perspective you have a very strange for your
your you will notice that the years ago it what is she doing why she doing this
the issue he is the heat she can so easily Buster on this a
sister brings up this anecdotal the agreement what is going to hit his head
at this moment
and why you know a clue she's trying to fake some feeling so that at all good
upper back about not having been
more you know respondeme you to do what's going on but
I am his way that's really use II it was almost tera pyaar ko should you do what
you do to stop it stop it stop it you know
he prayed that adam's in a lever once he discovers who she really is remember he
said
she said that to his sister at the cemetery
so I think the shoes obviously trying very very hard to be someone who she's
not
and I i think i think she's probably gonna get caught as she's not trying
hard to cover her tracks is not should not like
yeah I she she's the crazy sister the crazies are the kind of person who would
use that story on multiple people sure not being smart enough to realize that
like
you can't use it twice on the same person but when I tried it out every now
and then
I'm watching that part in the show though
at the and I had so many the hot the its in there together so many moments that
way is this
is this what they're doing now is this what their intention trying to execute
or this me reading too much into it specially
is is Hannah or is is Lena Dunham now trying to have her dramatic moment as an
actress is what I kept thinking in
and is is she really is it really resonating with her all that
these emotions is she trying to bridge that gap because this is really how she
feels but now at the end at
I liked the decision in the it something as I watched the show I know it's in its
third season
but I still don't know if they'll use any of what happened in this episode
next time writing that's true and also I I knew that handles life was somehow
going to implode
I didn't know exactly how it was going to happen but everything was looking on
the up and up for her right now things like it last yeah
things are changing things are changing I was really excited to see
Marni exercising in this episode I know it sounds rather reason I say that is
because it seem like she is finally doing something productive regalia right
yeah he had a right go do something for yourself you know get the endorphins
going and then
you know she got really Ball Z and she decided to quit her job after she
noticed that her
you know manager was sitting there watching that really embarrassing music
video that you've got
fancy people that want to work with a ride she I
bearable sometimes but I don't know I'd I find myself rooting for her
I don't know she did have a crazy workout face and I think that's what
they were trying to communicate that
the poll ups like not yes there are definitely the part where it's just a
little over the top
I I yeah alright
i right now let you know when I wake up time I run away you know you're dealing
with you
so yeah I I think there's definitely did that this was very much
apiece for these characters as we know them and also setting us up for even
more sort of
craziness from become yep know gradually
current call will thank you for joining us and come back next week
