What should a custom website include? Hi, I'm Shauna Duty,
COO at Modern Dental Practice Marketing and today I want to talk a little bit about
what a dental website should include. I have had dentists come to us and they've
paid five or ten thousand dollars for a custom
website. And then they've paid up to two thousand dollars
a month for ongoing search engine optimization,
that's organic search. That's too much.
So today I want to go over what our website packages include.
And you can see the value that we provide our clients.
Original Design. Annie, on our team, she's our lead designer
And she actually goes back and forth with our clients
After the initial interview, which takes about an hour
Where I personally interview my clients, gather information,
not only about design and domains and emails and the technical side,
but also about services, philosophy, demographics of your target market, things
like that And Annie and her team take that information
and create a couple of design comps and send those out to the client
And then she communicates on the telephone or via email,
whatever's easiest for the client, back and forth
As many times as it takes Until we find the right design for that client.
"Modern Dental Practice Marketing provides a very unique internet marketing services
that goes above and beyond the standard 'cookie cutter' websites
other companies out there are offering." Original Copywriting
So many dentists come to us and they've paid for a website
And that website doesn't include copywriting and they don't know it until they've already
paid for it, they're well into the design process
and then they get an email or a message that they need to provide
the text for the website. That's ridiculous, in my opinion.
At MDPM, we have a staff of copywriters that go through our certification program
for writing dental content, for knowing search engine optimization tactics
And then of course for grammar, punctuation, spelling
The ability to compose good content and be a good writer
And all of our clients get original text for their websites
It's search engine optimized, we include the links sthat are required, the
h-tags that are required in addition to the metadata in the back end
- text that goes into the coding for good search
engine optimization We don't offer any library articles,
none of the content is stock. And that's because Google prefers original
content. And I really think that in order to make a
dentists' practice unique, and stand out on the web,
his own message needs to be conveyed in the text.
We have content managers here as well, that write our blogs,
press releases articles, all kinds of texts for dentists
So when it comes to copywriting, we definitely have dentists covered.
"MDPM has done an outstanding job in helping our dentists with up to date,
and attractive web presence. They have been timely and very helpful with
providing good copy and design with web sites, blog sites, and social media."
Complete SEO Search Engine Optimiation Search engine optimization,
in today's day and age, should just come with the website.
It shouldn't be anything that you pay extra for.
It takes longer. It does. We can't use stock articles,
we have to be careful of, like I said before, the design elements that we use.
We have to spend time doing metadata, submitting to search engines,
and installing Google Analytics and things like that.
But really, the whole point of having a website is to be found on Google,
or search engines in general. So, search engine optimization should just
come standard with websites, blog sites, microsites,
and at MDPM you don't pay extra for it. "...for the first time in three years,
we are on the first page when we Google Fort Worth Braces.
Great job! Thank you again." Like search engine optimization,
social networking is just a part of internet marketing these days.
You should have a facebook account, and a Google plus local account,
meaning a Google page with a map for your business
and that should be optimized with keywords; you need some pictures on there,
your logo, linked to your website, blogsite, microsite.
At MDPM, you can come to us with a Facebook page, twitter page,
Google plus local page And we'll just get admin rights and just make
sure your blogs are posted over there. We'll keep an eye on the traffic and
give you any tips that we think would help you in those areas
We also can set up, at no additional cost, your Facebook page, and your google plus local
page. That's just part of a website package,
we think that it's very important that you have those things.
If you have a Pinterest account, a Twitter account,
a Google plus page for your business, or any other social media profile out there,
we can integrate that into your website as well.
We do have additional packages where our writers can post on social networking platforms on
your behalf if you want to engage there but you simply
don't have time. "Setup and maintenance of your social networking
profiles on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ local (formerly
google maps/google places)" There are a few additional things that should
be included in a custom dental website package
Those are integration of the Google plus button. It's just a snippet of code that needs to
be added to a sidebar of a website, so that people who are engaged with Google
plus can 'like' the site if you will and you'll get credit for that
Or we say you have to play the "Google game", and google plus local and google plus one
is part of that strategy. They're free, so we just go grab the code
and we make sure that it's in there so you get to benefit from it.
Another inclusion should be integration of your blog feed
If you have a blog, we can include the most recent three posts of that blog
in the sidebar or on the homepage of your website
And as you post new blogs, that will update. So it's almost like a news feed,
it keeps your website up to date and it really pulls your whole internet marketing strategy
together. It's pretty cool, and I haven't seen anybody
else do it yet So it's cutting edge.
Integration of social networking links Google plus button
Integration of your blog feed PDF forms and post operative forms that you
provide Photos and videos that you provide
Domain and domain-based email Working with Jill and Shauna has been a
wonderful experience! I am sure many other dentists can benefit from their wealth of
knowledge and high level of service. The last thing I want to go over with you
is cost, what you should expect to pay.
I started out by telling you that I've seen dentists pay five or ten thousand dollars,
or more, for a custom website And then they have to write their own text
And then I've also seen them pay thousands of dollars a month
for search engine optimization, organic SEO If you have a Google AdWords account,
a Pay Per Click account, and you fund that with two hundred, five hundred
thousand dollars a month, that's a separate issue.
I'm talking about organic search engine optimization. Here's what you should be paying:
A custom dental website with all of these things
should cost a few thousand dollars Monthly hosting and support, including SEO
tracking, should run only a few hundred dollars a month
If you pay more, you should get more. If you have any questions about what you've
paid or what you should pay for dental marketing,
give us a call. We'll be happy to answer your questions,
look at your website, provide a free analysis of your site,
let you know how you're doing as far as SEO is concerned,
and put a plan in place to improve your online presence
and hopefully get some new patients in your practice.
"I continue to be impressed with the ROI value that MDPM provides me.
I have a colleague spending more than fifteen times per month what I pay,
and his organic search results place him only a few lines above me on Google search results!"
