the recipe of today is the bread of dead, traditional recipe for
All Souls Day and Halloween
very popular all over the italy, with many varieties, as all
the ancient recipes, main ingredients are biscuits cocoa, spices and dried fruits
all traditional food for halloween
when we find this kind of recipes, made with
ready made ingredients as the biscuits
or with recycled ones
probabily they are very old revisited recipes
maybe the ustilisation of spices and peppercorn
for the recipes means that the ancient recipe was made with bread crumbles
or with other ingredients much more peasant of those used nowadays
like ladyfingers and amaretti biscuits
which, as you can see, I am crumbling
in a mortar for making little crumbles
but not a very fine
powder
this is the right consistence
3/4 fine crumbled, 1/4 biscuit coarse crumbles

to crush than ladyfingers

also with liquors afer a meal
or with hot chocolate for the children

with a traditional glass of milk
or a good black tea
