Some years back
maybe about ten years now
me and a friend of mine
were standing in the lobby of my building in the Castle Hill projects in the Bronx
uh...
just talking, really doing nothing but just talking probably
talking about nothing
and
four detectives just
ran into the building,
told us to put our hands on the wall
and stand up against the wall and freeze.
so we put our hands against the wall cause we were wondering what was going on.
So in the process they asked us if we had any drugs. I'm like, "Drugs?
We didn't even do anything. No, we don't have any drugs."
But they didn't believe us
and it went on to the extent where
they took us, both me and my friend into
a stairwell and strip searched us
in the lobby.
Now you've got people coming in and out, you know and it's a very
very embarrassing
you know
situation so
they
took our shirts off
pulled our pants down
you know
you can imagine the rest, they actually started putting flashlights in
I'm going to keep it real...in our butts
because they were trying to say
that we might have boofed it or something of that nature.
So we were very, very embarrassed, I was humiliated beyond belief,
'cause from that point on
you know, me and my friend got
ragged on for a couple of months behind that
but
the funny part of the situation was
they never found anything
and once they finished you know interrogating us and searching us
so called "searching" us
they just left.
They didn't say "Sorry"
they didn't say, "My bad" they didn't say "Oh, wrong person," they didn't say anything, they just left.
Me and my friend were standing there putting our clothes on like, what the heck just went down?
So it was very traumatizing to me.
I didn't even do anything, I was just standing in the building
getting harassed like this
but this wasn't the first time and nine times out of ten it won't be the last
because this is what goes on out here
especially where I live, unfortunately I do live in a drug area
so they feel like they can just run up on anybody thinking that
they're a potential drug dealer.
