Hi I'm Saunders for Average Joes and in this video I am going to be talking about this...
The Colgate ProClinical A1500 toothbrush
This particular example is quite high end, it's the Dom Pérignon of toothbrushes and
should really separate the men from the boys
lots of features, and in this video we're going to be looking at the features and seeing whether it is
worthy of that
£60 - £175 price
bracket
so yeah let's have a look at what's inside the box.
So here we have it,
manual
head
and here it is
pretty funky looking aesthetic,
good ergonomics I think, but
if I'm being honest none of that really interests me all I want to know is
how good it is at cleaning my teeth and is it worth paying the extra money
than something a bit cheaper.
Right, let's see how this baby works in action.
So here we are, all charged up and ready to go. Now one thing I want to show you is
one of the selling points of this toothbrush is that it has an
automated movement system and it recognises in your mouth when you move your hand
from these sensor pads at the back
when you're brushing your teeth and your gums, so when you are brushing your gums it'll give you a lighter brush stroke
and when it gets to your teeth it'll give a slightly harder brush stroke.
so we'll see if that really works but
just to kind of put that into example, when you turn it on here, the on button
you get this readout menu here, so you have optimum
press the mode button, deep clean as you can hear it gets
deeper and louder.
and then auto. Now while I do this I'm going to give you a bit of a running commentary and if you can't hear me or
understand what I'm saying, then have a look at the subtitles at
the bottom of the screen. So he we go, running commentary
Colgate...let's go.
Now, I've had quite a few electric toothbrushes
and usually some of them are quite uncomfortable, especially when you get onto your gums from your teeth
when they've had a battering from the brushes
and your gums get a bit sensitive about it, but
this one is quite clever, doesn't
feel to bad, but it does feel like it's getting the job done.
Also it has a 2 minute timer on it, so it knows when
2 minutes is up, the optimum teeth-brushing time
but I don't know about you, but I'm never one to stick to that.
And we are done.
So on conclusion
pretty good, it didn't feel as if it was doing that much when I was actually brushing, but on inspection afterwards
it's done a pretty good job.
there's no bits of food or plaque or anything left in. That auto mode is something quite special, it did
definitely recognise when I was moving from my gums to my teeth.
and it slowed down and sped up correspondingly, pretty decent if you ask me.
I will happily say it's
possibly the best results that I've ever got from a toothbrush. Now would I
be happy paying that price? Probably not,
but like I said at the start of the video, if you put it into perspective of how much you use a toothbrush and how long and how much
use you'll get out of it,
maybe it's worth it, I guess it's down to
everyones personal opinion but
in terms of toothbrushes,
this one's pretty darn good.
