For
this shoot I used a basic 3-light setup. My key light was a beauty dish about 5 feet away
from the models, above head level.
Then I used a soft box aimed at the back wall to fill in the background light, and for my
third light I used a soft box with a grid on it in the back left hand corner to create
a more interesting and dynamic image.
It was aimed at the back and side of Doah and Heather, and I used it to create highlights
on their left hand side. If you look closely at Doah here, you can see the effect that
that third light had on this image.
So overall it's a pretty simple setup.
The beauty dish is often used in fashion photography as a key light because it creates a quality
of light that wraps around the subject in a beautiful way that no other light modifier
can really do.
