My name is Victoria Nneji and if selected as the G(irls)20 Summit Delegate from the
United States of America, I will use my voice to amplify the voice of girls throughout America.
“From California, to the New York Island...From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters.”
I have connected with women and girls who like myself emigrated from a different nation
or like my freshman year roommate are native to this land with heritage long before the
settlers. I represent the image of an American girl,
a reflection of so many experiences of being left out of settings where important decisions
of our future have been made in politics, scientific research, and entrepreneurship.
I have a vision that is growing stronger with each new young woman I speak with who inspires
me to continue on my journey of making a positive difference.
I believe that we are the missing ingredient to solving problems that have plagued the
world for so long. I will use my voice to express that it is
important to invest in the education of girls early on during primary school so they are
not afraid to pursue degrees like computer science, mathematics, engineering and balancing
the pendulum in congress, technology startups, and laboratories.
I cannot wait for you and so much of the world to hear my voice so young girls, not just
in the United States but throughout the world, can aspire to and be empowered to also have
their voices heard. Thank you so much-- I anticipate this opportunity
in Russia to share my voice with girls who have seen perhaps different things but have
the common understanding of what it feels like to be a girl in this 21st century world!
