Having a structured cooling off recovery plan after training in the heat is extremely important.
Research has tested 9 different ways to cool your body down after training in the heat.
The best of these methods has been found to be totally immersing your body (apart from
your head) in cold water.
Ice vests and resting in shade actually did very little to cool the core temperature down,
which may come as a suprise to some.
Another great way to cool yourself down is to immerse your entire forearms in cold water.
Because of all the blood flow through this area of the body, this method is really good
to help you recover much better from a workout in the heat.
Not suprisingly, drinking cool water has also been found to be a great way to help your body recover from training in the heat.
